Being a Greengrass after all should sound pretty serene.
But being a part of "the Emeralds" should not, especially when hearts become entangled with the infamous Regulus Black.

September 12th, 1976
It's the 12th of September, which means it's Avery's birthday. Although she likes her birthday, she hates the fact that she's the oldest in her friend group. At 7:25, she slowly opens her eyes, groggily blinking away the remnants of sleep. It takes her a moment to register that she finds no signs of a certain blonde-haired, blue-eyed Ravenclaw.
She feels a small pang of worry as she realizes it's already past the time they usually wake up. This is highly unusual for Pandora, who's the definition of a morning person and never misses a chance to wake her up with a cheerful "Good morning!" and "Happy Birthday, Ave!" if it was her birthday.
Avery swings her legs out of bed and grabs her wand off of her bedside table to quickly cast a refreshing charm on herself before her eyes land on a note propped up on the table. Carefully unfolding the note, she reads the words written in Pandora's neat, flowing script.
"Meet me at the Room of Requirement after you finish getting ready. Better not be late!! ♡
-P"
She has a guess on where this is going but just shrugs and prepares herself for the day. She does her daily quickly but thoroughly, making sure to look her best despite the earliness of the hour. Taking one last look at the mirror and being satisfied with what she sees, she emerges from her dorm and rounds the corner to the seventh floor.
Avery reaches the wall where the room of requirement is. Glancing around to make sure no one is watching, she paces back and forth in front of it three times, focusing on her wish to see what Pandora has planned. As the hidden door materializes, she pushes the door open and steps inside. The room is dimly lit so it's difficult to see. It's eerily quiet, and there's no sign of anyone else in the room...yet.
She calls out softly, "Pandora?"
Next thing Avery knew, her eyes were being covered with a pair of hands from behind. She kicks the person's legs to get a sound out of the them, revealing that it is Evan, but he doesn't let go of her eyes that easily.
"Guess who?" He persists in a sing-song voice.
"My ass."
Evan grins at her response, amused by her blunt answer, "Classy."
"What, you asked a dumb question. It only makes sense you got a dumb answer."
As she says this, a hand grabs her hand and leads her into whatever it is. The gentleness of it and the rings tell Avery that it's Pandora.
"Guys, are you kidnapping me?" She complains, shifting her weight from one foot to the other impatiently.
"Yes."
Soon, when Avery's fully led to the room, Evan finally lets go of her eyes as he joins the other side. She's faced with the whole friend group, with Dorcas holding the birthday cake with "16" adorned on it.
