Being a Greengrass after all should sound pretty serene.
But being a part of "the Emeralds" should not, especially when hearts become entangled with the infamous Regulus Black.
Goodness, lawfulness, or evilness. Which path will they tread in the ti...

"Avery."
"Avery!"
"Bitch, wake up. It's 7:33."
Avery mutters a curse under her breath as the sharp light enters the room when her sister opens the curtains, "Ugh- what the fuck."
"Do you always have to do that?"
"Yes," Violet replies as a-matter-of-fact. "Mom and dad fought again this morning."
Of course. Avery saw this coming, because they always seem to pick their daughters' special days: on their birthdays, exam days, on the days Avery would feel beyond happy just for her to fall back into her thoughts again. But now that her sister has already graduated last year and is currently working in a legal apartment at the wizarding ministry, today remains solely her special day; the first day of a new year at Hogwarts. She sits up on her bed, not even bothering to ask if it was bad or not anymore.
"We'll leave at 10, yeah? Mom has- she left to our grandma's this morning."
"Okay, she didn't even leave any goodbyes to me, did she?" Avery replies, air-quoting the word "goodbyes."
Violet shakes her head, "I'm sure she will send you a letter when you're at Hogwarts."
Right. Letters.
This made her remember the fact that she was made the Ravenclaw prefect for this year, along with a shy nerd named Henry. Each prefect receives a list of all the prefect names, so she's aware that Regulus got the role of Slytherin prefect too.
Avery does not come out of her room until 9:30, showering and choosing her outfits for the day, which took around 30 minutes — with her trying on more outfits than she should before settling on a long-sleeved black shirt and a maroon skirt. She had always preferred long sleeves, long skirts, and long jeans her whole life, because she thought they fitted her better and were more elegant.
Stepping out of her room, she takes a lingering look at her father, who's fast asleep on a couch in the living room, presumably drunk as usual. Dismissing this, she goes to the kitchen to make herself a simple sandwich and a cup of black coffee. She's particularly a fan of coffee with milk, but she needs a strong black coffee to be able to function well on important days or when she is exhausted. Soon, her sister joins the table and helps her as she makes breakfast for herself as well.
They leave the house at 10 sharp, along with Violet's boyfriend, Daniel Brown, arriving at the platform at 10:40. Avery hates physical touch, however, she wholeheartedly returns her sister's hug as they exchange the last goodbye.
"Enjoy your very first year at Hogwarts without me, and please find bitches this time," Violet says with an exasperated sigh.
Avery smiles at this and hits her arm, replying, "And dudes." Frankly, she's bisexual. Although she has never told this to Violet or come out officially, she has a feeling her sister knows it. Maybe even her boyfriend, Daniel, who has a smile on his face as he watches them interact. Avery honestly has no objection to him being her sister's partner, because she considers him a genuine good person.
