I heard a soft knock on my door and then it slowly creaked open.
"Are you awake, Nabi?" Reira asked quietly."Mmm no," I replied, my face buried in the pillow.
"Just so you know, we have to leave for the airport by noon, and you still need to pack your stuff."
"Mmmmm." I heard the door close softly.
I sat up slowly and zoned out for a few minutes. Then I got up, stretching as I walked over to open the window.
Oh, the sun—
I checked the time. 9 AM.
Shit!
I dashed to the bathroom to wash up quickly, then changed into some gray sweatpants and a matching shirt.
I ran back to my room and started packing my two huge suitcases.
Damn it, why do I keep buying so many clothes?
I quickly sent Reira a message asking if I should bring my snowboard gear as well, and after a few minutes, she replied saying she was only bringing a couple of outfits and was shipping the rest to her parents' house.
Brilliant.
I did the same and managed to split my winter clothes into one suitcase and my summer clothes and shoes into another. I packed the rest of the clothes I couldn't fit into a box to ship home. After about two hours, I finished.
Luckily, I'm someone who keeps things tidy and well-organized, or it would have taken me twice as long.
I took off the bed linens, grabbed the towels I'd used, and tossed them into a basket. I headed downstairs and saw Hiro having breakfast.
He looked up from his cereal. "Good morning, Chō. Need any help? I've already finished packing my stuff."
"Where should I put these?" I lifted the basket of dirty laundry slightly.
He pointed to the room where we usually store our snowboards. "They emptied it early this morning and sent our stuff to the dorm. They told us to leave the dirty laundry there, and someone would come by to collect it."
I walked over to the room to drop off the laundry. "Thanks, Hiro-san!"
Then I went back upstairs to start bringing down my things. After I was done, I collapsed on the couch.
Never again! I'm not buying anything ever again!!
"I didn't go to the gym today, but it feels like I did after carrying all those suitcases up and down the stairs," I said tiredly.
Reira, who was sitting across from me with her phone in hand, chuckled without looking up.
"Come on, a little exercise does you good. Shall we have breakfast now?"
