Being sick was not fun for Beca. Even worse, she had absolutely nothing to do. She couldn't go into the studio to write music, she couldn't go to the gym or the grocery store. Hell, she barely had enough energy to go to the bathroom and back.

As much as she hated being sick, it made her appreciate little things more. It made her appreciate all the times she was well enough to sit at her computer for hours and make songs. It made her appreciate Bella's game nights she pretended to hate so much. She felt a wave of gratitude any time one of the girls would come upstairs to check on her or to bring her something. Most of all, she appreciated Chloe.

Her heart swelled any time Chloe would snuggle closer to her and whisper sweet nothings into her ear until she fell asleep. Or the times she would make playful jokes when Beca was feeling down, or all the times she would simply hold Beca while she waited for the room to stop spinning. By the time Beca started feeling better, she knew she had fallen even more deeply in love with Chloe.

"How are you feeling, Cap?" Stacie asked, walking into Beca's room to find her on her bed under a few blankets.

"Getting better." Beca said, voice raspy but slowly returning.

"That's good to hear, it's been quiet the past week without you complaining about everyone and everything all the time." She joked around, earning an eye roll from the small brunette.

"Be quiet. When I'm better, I'll be complaining about you the most." She said back.

"Well, Chloe will be home soon with your smoothie, so is there anything you need until then?" She asked, ignoring Beca's comment.

"Nah, I'm good." Beca said, pulling the blankets tighter over her body.

"Okay, call me if that changes." Stacie said before leaving and closing the door.

Just as the room fell silent again, Beca's phone vibrated with a text.

My Girl|10:23 AM
Hey, Becs. I got your smoothie, but the pharmacy doesn't have the strawberry cough drops you like. Is there another kind you would like? Or I could just get you some suckers from the candy isle instead.

A smile broke out on Beca's face, knowing Chloe was trying so hard to make her feel better.

Me|10:24 AM
Any flavor is fine. Thank you for caring, babe. I'll see you in a bit.

A few minutes later, Beca woke up from her light sleep at the sound of Chloe walking up the stairs to her room and closing the door behind her. She peaked out of her pile of blankets to find her looking at her with a sad smile, smoothies in one hand and a grocery bag in the other. She immediately set them down on Beca's night stand and crouched down next to the bed.

"How are you feeling, sweetheart?" Chloe asked softly, brushing her fingers slowly through Beca's hair.

"Doing better." Beca rasped out, closing her eyes at the comforting feeling on her scalp.

"Can you sit up for me and drink your smoothie?" Chloe asked, kissing Beca's forehead and frowning slightly at the heat radiating off of it still.

Beca hummed in response and sat up slowly with Chloe's help. Chloe handed her the smoothie before grabbing her own and joining Beca on the small bed.

"Beca, I think we should maybe see a doctor. I know you hate it there, but you're still pretty sick and your fever hasn't broken in over a week." Chloe said softly, looking at her pale and sick girlfriend.

"I'm starting to feel better. I don't think I need to go." Beca insisted before letting out a cough.

"Are you sure? You don't sound good baby." Chloe's voice was full of concern as Beca coughed up a lung.

"I'm sure. If it gets worse, I'll let you take me." Beca compromised.

"Deal." Chloe said, kissing Beca's cheek softly before they continued drinking the smoothies.

By late afternoon, Beca's fever was slowly going away and she was looking more like herself. Her cheeks were less flushed and her face was getting a little color back. Chloe loved to see her girlfriend slowly returning back to normal, even if it was just slightly.

By the next morning, Beca's fever broke. She even managed to take a quick shower and grab some food from the kitchen before heading back to her room and cuddling with Chloe all day.

Within the next few days, Beca was back up on her feet. Despite her stuffy nose and lingering cough, she was back to making sarcastic comments about everything and resumed her music. She even participated in Bella game night. But this time, she didn't complain one bit about spending time with her Bella's.

Hey yall! This chapter was done a lot faster than I anticipated. I hope the writing style isn't too different from my last update, so please let me know if the story is still making sense :)
