The anxiety seemed to cut through the air like a knife, but for the most part, the two stood silent, utterly bewildered.

Well, Katherine was. Luke was just a teensy weensy bit annoyed out of his fucking mind.

"How the fuck did we get stuck in a zoo?" Katherine stated slowly, each word she uttered seeming to be large on emphasis.

Luke pursed his lips. "Maybe, oh, I don't know, they closed the gate?" He mumbled sarcastically, rolling his electric blue eyes in faint annoyance.

"It's your fault for keeping us in here with the fucking gorillas anyway."

The redheaded girl glared at him. "I hope you get run over by a freight train" she hissed, making her way out of the exhibit and into the cold night air, the blonde trailing a few steps behind her.

"How the fuck are we gonna get out of here?" She squealed, running her hands through her scarlet colored hair as she paced in the moonlight.

She looked genuinely horrified and for the first time that day, or at all really, Luke genuinely felt bad for her. Well in a "you're an asshole but it sucks that you're sad" type of way.

God, he really needed to work on talking to people.

"Katherine" he mumbled, eyes fixated on the girl illuminated by the moon against her every being.

The small girl sniffled, looking up at him bitterly, her lips etched into a frown across her pale face.

"How are you so calm about this? We are trapped in a fucking zoo, Lucas!" She exclaimed, as if the latter wasn't already obvious.

The blonde frowned. "Calm down, mom, i just wanted to ask you something" he said, raising his arms up in the air in sarcastic defeat.

Throughout all his life, only his mother had ever called him Lucas and hearing the girl he absolutely loathed with every fiber of his being say it was just weird.

Katherine let out a scoff, rolling her eyes at him though surprisingly agreeing to listen to him. She looked at him, urging him to go on in silence.

"Now, do you have a phone or not?" Luke asked gently, not wanting to piss her off more than she already was.

"I don't have a phone" was all that she had to say for the blonde boy to stare at her.

"What kind of seventeen year old doesn't own a fucking phone?" Luke questioned, voice full of confusion and disbelief.

"I usually use Calum's phone" she responded, tone bitter and frustrated.

Luke gave her his best "you're fucking stupid and you know it" look, making the red haired girl frown.

"It's worked for about three years, don't be an asshole."

"You're unbelievable" he murmured, tugging at his hair in slight frustration. This girl was giving him headaches.

Katherine crossed her arms across her chest, glaring at him with cold grey eyes that seemed to reflect the moon in the sky almost, no, completely beautifully.

Not like Luke cared though.

"What about you, huh? You have a phone right, Mr. High and Mighty?" She interrogated him mercilessly, wanting him to feel every bit as crappy as he made her feel.

Luke rolled his eyes, taking out his phone as she watched him expectantly, eyebrows raised as the screen remained black even after all of the blonde's button pressing.

"Its dead" he said.

And Katherine laughed.

Like she literally laughed.

It was bitter and forced, almost like she wanted him to be wrong, to make a fool of himself, which she probably did.

And that pissed Luke off.

"You know fucking what? Just shut the fuck up. I don't even want to be here. Let alone, be here with you" the blonde hissed, scowling at the girl in front of him.

Katherine wiped the tears away, slowly regaining her composure.

"Well then, unfortunately for you, Mr. Hemmings, its official. You're my buddy all night" she announced, a grin plastered onto her face. "It's the system."

Luke pursed his lips and let out an annoyed groan. "Fine" he stated, simply. "But were doing this my way."

"What the fuck does that mean?"

"It means were going to see those fucking dolphins."

Lol this chapter is shit.

But i like to keep on schedule so y'know, oh well what can you do??

Oh and Luke really fucking likes dolphins. What an adorable baby loser im gonna cry tears of blood.

Anyway, he likes them a lot for a more meaningful reason than you think and it'll all make sense sooner or later.
