Katherine woke up again at 6am, which was extremely fucking weird considering that mornings made her want to decapitate herself unless the topic of coffee was brought up.
What was weirder though, was that Ashton was up before her, and, if anyone hated mornings more than her, it was her brother, and he had nineteen years of morning grumpiness to prove it.
Katherine yawned, heading downstairs once she was already changed and ready to go. Michael had texted to come at around 8am and even remembered to give her the address to his house, where the practice would be held, though she wondered how he even got her number in the first place. He probably went through Luke's phone or something.
She checked her phone, cursing under her breath as the bright ass screen practically blinded her.
Everywhere in her house was mostly dark considering that on Sundays, her mum left extra early for work and usually it was just her and Ash, but they usually slept in until ten on weekends so she never bothered opening the lights.
Katherine squinted at the screen, making out the large white numbers accompanied with her horrid cat wallpaper.
It was around 7:10 and if she just frantically ran down two blocks with a ham sandwich in her mouth, she probably wouldn't be late. But it's not like Michael cared. He seemed to be the only one aware of the fact that she was even coming, which was totally okay with her because both Calum and Luke hated her guts anyway.
The redheaded girl stumbled into the kitchen, rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes. It occurred to her that memorable morning that waking up this early on a weekend was a fucking curse and that she should probably never do it again.
Even making a fucking sandwich coherently at this time without the anxiety of school starting any second now was difficult.
"Where are you going so early?" A familiar, raspy voice mumbled, practically scaring the living shit out of Katherine as she turned, her hand promptly placed on her chest, where her heart was.
"Ashton, you ass!" She yelped, taking a deep breath as she laid eyes on her curly haired, batman pajama that clearly, embarrassingly matched hers, clad, giant of a brother. "You scared the fuck out of me!"
The brown haired boy squeaked, throwing his hands up in the air out of defeat as he received a, fairly painful, if he had to say so himself, punch on the arm. "I was just asking where you were going, no need to abuse me!" He whined, rubbing at his arm and wincing slightly at the stinging pain.
Katherine sighed, rubbing her temples as she grabbed a shit ton of Poptarts from the cabinet. Sandwiches were too much work and Ashton basically freaked her out to hell and back so she wasn't really in the mood anymore.
"I'm- er- i'm going to my friends band practice," she stated, nodding in agreement at her own description of the situation she was in.
Michael wasn't exactly her friend yet, or even at all, but it was better than saying "i'm going to confess to the love of my teenage life by barging into his band practice with the help of his best friend."
"Holy shit, band practice? Like legit guitar, drums, bass, lead vocals?" Ashton questioned, his face practically lighting up at the mention of bands in general.
He always fucking loved bands, from blink-182 to Slipknot, it was like music was his life and his one true love other than drumming.
Drumming was just an all around talent for him. He was absolutely amazing at it and even took the time to learn techniques that could quite possibly make him better.
It was something he loved, and he always dreamed of starting a band and making music.
"Yeah, well other than drums," she admitted sheepishly, making the hazel eyed boy grin widely. "They don't exactly have a drummer."
"Can i come?" He asked, his eyes wide and curious, like he was a small child watching videos of Nirvana on their old computer with their dad again.
Katherine raised an eyebrow at him curiously, "why would you want to come?" She asked.
I mean, sure, Ashton was nice and adorably sweet, but she wasn't quite sure if he wanted to hang out with a bunch of seventeen year olds for the entire day. And besides, dragging your annoying older brother around wasn't very fun, especially when you planned to tell someone you were fucking in love with them. It's like your dad chaperoning you to prom.
The curly haired boy rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, smiling shyly. "Maybe i could help with their no drummer situation?" He suggested, making Katherine sigh, staying quiet for a bit as she thought things through.
"Please, Kit Kat?" Ashton begged, pouting cutely at her in the most annoying, frustrating way. He was always one to fucking use the puppy dog face against her. What an asshole.
"Fine, go get your ass upstairs and ready then," she mumbled, opening the silver wrapper of her poptart as she watched her older brother squeal with utter happiness as he ran up the stairs, knowing that this entire day was probably going to be a pain in the ass.

"For the last time, Ash, i don't fucking know what their band name is," Katherine groaned, walking ahead of her taller and also older sibling. It was around the fifteenth time the curly haired boy had asked this question and it was getting quite annoying.Besides, Michael never really told her what their band was called. He kind of just mentioned it and left her hanging around with a time and an address all confused and shit, though he probably relished it.
"Sorry, i'm just excited," Ashton mumbled, grinning goofily at her. "You know i love drumming."
Katherine nodded and sighed, looking down at her phone as they turned down Smiths street, the street in which, according to the address the red haired boy had given her, Michael lived.
"Hey, you never told me who was in the band," Ashton reminded as Katherine found the house, a plain white one that was quite large compared to the houses beside it, and began walking towards it.
The redheaded girl shrugged, knocking on the door quickly.
She didn't tell Ashton shit for a reason, preferably because she quite enjoyed the moral support his presence gave her, even though she didn't want him around in the first place, and if she would've told him about Luke and Michael, he would've backed out like they were Earthquakes or some shit.
"No one specia-" Katherine started, right as the door opened, revealing a now blue haired Michael on the other side.
"Oh, took you long enough to get he- why the fuck did you bring him?"
