The rest of the day dragged on slowly, as expected since every school day went slowly for Katherine now.
Probably because she actually had things to do after school now, having Luke and the band and everything.
It was like the biggest epiphany of senior year, actually.
I mean, only because she usually just hung out at home all day and watched Supernatural until she was sure she wouldn't be able to sleep ever again.
Other than that, it was pretty normal.
It still took some getting used to though. Like seeing Luke and getting weird urges to talk to him and be near him instead of urges to spit insults at him like he was a spawn of Satan or something. That was always a surprise in the morning. Katherine guessed that a lot of things were now.
"So," Calum started as the two of them frantically shoved their things into their backpacks. "You ready to meet Luke's dad? And his mum's grave?" He questioned in a too-cheery tone, frowning at the condescending sound of his voice. "That didn't come out right."
The redheaded girl nodded, simultaneously shaking her head in slight disappointment. "I hope it didn't," she mumbled, zipping her backpack closed before throwing it over her shoulder and fixing her hair. "That'd be quite rude if you meant it like that."
Calum rolled his eyes, throwing his hands up in the air in mock defeat. "Alright, alright, that sounded douchey, but i swear i didn't mean it like that. Besides, you never answered my question," he explained, looking at her expectantly as he adjusted his backpack straps on his shoulder and made his way out of the crowded classroom.
"I'm not ready," she stated simply, shrugging her shoulders in all her nervousness. "I mean, i'm probably going to mess up and everyone'll hate me again."
The two of them made their way through the mess in the hallways. There was always something going on there.
Like cheerleaders fighting and, before Calum and Katherine came around, Michael making out with multiple girls whilst Luke got hit on by literally everyone. He was technically everyones dream. It was like a life's goal to get into his virgin pants. Only, no one knows he's a virgin.
Today, though, only featured Madison Brently crying about how yet another boy banged her and left her to mend her own heart in all her stupid agony. You'd think she'd learn by now.
"No one hated you, and no one will hate you. His dad'll love you," Calum assured with a prompt shake of his head as they made their way out of the school and far, far away from the sad tears of Madison. "After all, Luke loves you," he added, as-a-matter-of-factly, taking note of how pink the redheaded girls cheeks became at just the mention of the stupid blonde haired boy.
"You really, really, really love him, don't you?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow at her, a smirk on his lips.
Katherine shook her head. "Were not even official yet," she mumbled truthfully. They really weren't. In fact, she doubted that they'd ever be. But she was okay with that. They never really liked actually talking about that kind of stuff anyway. It was more of like a mutual, silent agreement that they were okay, and that's all they'd ever need.
"But you love him," the kiwi boy teased sweetly, over-emphasizing the o's in love for the sole purpose to piss her off. "Little Katherine's in love with Lukey," he continued, snickering slightly as the shorter girl fastened the pace of her walking.
"You're unbelievable," she responded, earning a giggle from the boy as he trailed behind her like a little, obviously confused and a bit messed up in the head, lost puppy.
