Katherine didn't know why Luke liked dolphins so much.

But what she did know, is that it was very weird and also quite possibly very unhealthy.

Yet here she was, wandering around a closed zoo at 10pm on a hunt for dolphins with the person she hated.

"Where the fuck are those goddamn dolphins?" Luke whined for about the fifteenth time in the past ten minutes, making Katherine frown.

"Why do you even want to see dolphins so bad? Like they're just aquatic animals" she stated, shoving her hands in the pockets of her sweatshirt that was actually not hers, but her brothers, Ashton's, who was off at college somewhere in Brisbane.

The memory sent a pang of longing into her system. She missed Ashton, but then again, who wouldn't?

Luke shot her a glare. "Just shut the fuck up, i just like them a lot, okay?" He explained, pursing his lips. "Can a hot man not appreciate animals? Good god Katherine."

"Did you just refer to yourself as hot?" she snorted. "Trust me, Hemmings, you're far from that, especially with that huge ass ego of yours."

The blonde gasped in fake surprise. "Wow! Oh great wise one, riddle me with your thoughts!" He exclaimed, hand on his heart and eyes wide in overreacted interest.

Katherine scrunched her nose up in distaste. "Riddle me with your thoughts? Who are you? My dad? Because you sound fucking old."

"And you sound like a fucking bitch" Luke snarled back at the redhead before his eyes met with the dolphin tank.

"Holy shit! Bitch face mgee, we hit the fucking motherload!" He yelled, running to the tank with open arms. Literally. He looked like he was genuinely about to hug a 30.2 by 15.3 tank.

"Wait, you little piece of shit, did you literally just call me Bitch face mgee?" the redhead questioned, following behind the over excited boy bitterly.

Luke simply ignored her, disappearing into the back access of the tank. Katherine followed suit, almost boiling with anger directed at the boy.

"You are such a fucking horrible excuse for a buddy" she stated, watching as he climbed up the ladder leading to the opening of the tank, which, to his dismay, was surprisingly empty.

The blue eyed boy scoffed. "Fuck that stupid system, i don't want to be your buddy anyway" he said. "Also, where the fuck even are those goddamn dolphins? This sucks."

And at that point, Katherine had enough. She had enough of his stupid smug, attitude and his sarcasm and his stupid obsession with dolphins.

So, of course, she did what any normal seventeen year old girl would do.

She pushed Luke Hemmings into the dolphin tank.

Because after all, fuck the system, right?

"Katherine you psycho bitch! What the literal fuck!" the boy exclaimed, his head finally emerging from the waters edge. "You're so fucking lucky this tank is empty or i swear."

But obviously, she wasn't paying attention at all to the blondes sorry ass because Katherine had never laughed so hard in her life.

"This is comedy gold" she stated finally in between fits of hysterical laughter from her place at the top of the ladder. "God, now i wish i had a phone to record that."

Luke narrowed his eyes at her, cheeks red with anger and humiliation.

"I hope you fucking drown, bitch" he said.

And he didn't regret grabbing her arm and pulling her into the tank with him. Not one bit.

Katherine gasped for air, splashing water at the first face she saw. The stupid one belonging to Luke Hemmings.

"You fucking prick! What the hell was the point of this shit? Now were both soaked!" she yelled, pushing at the lanky body in front of her that still fucking seemed to hover over her in the water.

"You started it!" the blonde responded, his lips etched into a smug smirk across his face. "And you know for a fact i get you soaked on a regular basis, babe."

"Did you just?" the girl cringed in disgust, cursing at the redness in her cheeks.

"You're fucking disgusting."

"You're fucking beautiful and i'd like to get in your pants if i didn't hate you so much" Luke responded truthfully, his electric blue eyes fixated on her almost intimidatingly.

"And i'm never letting that happen" she said, splashing the boy in the face.

"Ow! That got in my eye! It could fucking have dolphin piss in it, Katherine!" He whined, splashing her back as if his mindset changed from a horny seventeen year old to a stupid, naive five year old.

Katherine rolled her eyes, smiling just the slightest bit from his reaction. It was adorable really. But y'know, its not that she cared, obviously.

"You act all high and mighty and tough and all that, but you're just a baby aren't you, Luke Hemmings?"

Yeah, i have no idea where i'm going with this story but i'm pretty chill with it like i enjoy it but im kind of like???? Half the time?? But lbr here this has definitely got to be the best chapter i've wrote so far like wow someone appreciate my efforts please like its 2am and i just need some lovin'

He'll make a bigger appearance later on in the story. Oh and the reason why their last names are different and why they're described looking different shall be explained later on along with everything else like why Luke has a serious fucking obsession with dolphins and why Katherine's such a school renowned bitter motherfucker.
