Sirens were blaring around the Outpost. It couldn't be helped after Syuen actually went through with her insane plan.

She had successfully found a way to lure Raptures to the Ark, and the threat was far past the horizon.

They were here.

"Emergency Alert. Emergency Alert, from the Central Government." Every speaker blared. "Raptures have appeared near the Ark. All citizens should move to the designated shelters. We repeat once again—"

"She really did it..." Elegg muttered in shock.

"What poor soul did she convince to commit treason...?" Neon wondered in horror.

The Commander had his eyes glued to the tv after Syuen finally began the broadcast she was referring to. She went on about how there was no need to go to the shelters when Matis was out there fighting.

"Do not be afraid. I have my very best keeping the Raptures at bay as we speak. You're in safe hands." She assured.

Despite her claim, the broadcast was showing otherwise. Maxwell and Drake were doing their best against the massive hordes of raptures flooding their way, but Laplace as frozen in fear.

A panic attack, the Commander recognized.

This is what he feared.

Without the NIMPH, their human emotions couldn't be handled the same way. Their trauma couldn't be erased with the press of a button. Their past would haunt them just anyone else.

Laplace was suffering from PTSD.

The Commander turned back to his team with a glare. "You all feel like saving Matis?"

The five looked at each other, contemplating if they should step in. Of course it was their duty, but the Commander was giving them a choice.

They all nodded, knowing if they didn't act the Raptures would make it through into the Ark.

"Let's move."

A loud buzz and screech of rubber began to blare across the Outpost before a 4-seater ATV suddenly flew out from the gates in a blur.

The Commander held the wheel and stomped his foot on the gas with his team clinging to the vehicle best they could against the terrain.

They needed to get to whatever facility Syuen sent Matis and the poor Commander she coaxed into doing her dirty work.

"Shifty?"

"You rang?" She asked happily.

"Hell yeah." The Commander grinned having his operator back. "I'm sure you get the sitch— got an eye on Matis yet?"

"Yeah, we've tracked their location. Sending the coordinates your way." Shifty relayed. There was a clear pep in her voice that the Commander was smirking at.
