[After Case 3, this will be on a small hiatus for me to hit up another gacha game story people have been asking for, Blue Archive. I'll finish a few arcs in that and come back here with more content. I hope Case 3 will wrap up nice enough to keep you guys interested!]

Eden.

The name of paradise up on the surface. A safe haven for humans and Nikke alike. It was unheard of to the citizens to the Ark, and Eden intended to keep it that way.

The Commander had to commend Johan for running a place like this, emulating what life used to be like on the surface to a near perfect degree.

He didn't like that a Nikke named Dorothy was fawning over him like
He was the second coming. Even she began to call him Messiah like Private did...

"What the hell is she on about, man? She's creeping me out."

"Wind of your victory against a Heretic has spread far and wide... She believes you are the key to defeating Nihilister." Johan tiredly replied.

"Nihilister? Is that another Heretic?" The Commander asked.

"We've had five engagements with the Heretic Nihilister. Every time ended in a stalemate. She believes that—"

Dorothy finally slipped past Harran and Noah and tackled the Commander out of his seat.

"You're the miracle worker who has defied fate and destiny several times over! You have experienced victory, and we want your expertise in light of plight!"

The Commander tried to pry her off with a growl, but her grip far surpassed his strength. "What the hell do they feed you?! Get off!"

Johan leered down at him from his desk and continued. "You want the Vapaus to liberate Nikkes, but what good would that do with threats still looming overhead. We need it to prevent Nihilister from regenerating."

"Yeah, yeah, rock and a hard place. Used to it." The Commander tapped Dorothy's neck, forcing her body to slump down.

He slipped out from under her and stood up with a glare. Johan looked at his hands, before analyzing his entire appearance.

"What pushed you to these lengths?" He asked.

"Huh? You mean this?" The Commander snapped and let loose a spark. "Not gonna stand around and let the girls fight all my battles. See how that worked out, didn't you?"

He grinned seeing Johan's glare grow sharper. While the loss was embarrassing, it wouldn't have happened under different circumstances.

"I commend your resolve. You're the only human I've seen from the Ark capable of breaking through your god-given limits." Johan waved off his own compliment before peering out of his office's window.

"Same here. Those pansies at the Ark don't get what a team is." The Commander looked at the window too and spotted their Nikkes.

The lot were bickering with each other after the close shave with each of their Commander's lives. Even Rapi was arguing with Harran's arrogance over which Commander was more competent.
