Rosé POV
The weekend was really good, Jisoo spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning at my house, it was good, but today is Monday again and I'll need to go back to work, face Jennie again and try not to make any mistakes, Jisoo gave me some tips, I hope I can put them into practice and not get fired on Friday.
I arrive at the usual time, before Jennie, I look at my desk and organize everything, looking at all her things and I send everything by email, her appointments and everything else, just like she asks, in less than 15 minutes she arrives.
— Good morning, Miss Kim — I say
— Good morning, Roseanne, bring me a coffee — He says and goes towards his office
I make her coffee, as carefully as possible, and go to her office, entering after she allows it.
— Thank you — She says when I put the coffee on her table.
—Anything else? — I ask and she stares at me for a few seconds
— No — Tell me and I'll leave
The morning went well, there wasn't much to do, apart from the calls to answer, I already totally hate the noise of this phone, but there was nothing I could do.
— Good afternoon, Rosé — I look forward to seeing Lisa and smile
— Good afternoon, Miss Manoban.
— Did Jennie eat? — He asks.
— Yes — I say and she looks at me with suspicion like she did on Friday
— Rosé, Jennie has a serious problem with eating, years ago she was hospitalized for not eating, even if she was trying very hard, she wouldn't be eating every day, so if she's not eating, tell me — She says and I take a deep breath, Lisa is the vice president of the company, Jennie is the CEO, they are both my bosses, Jennie has more power, but even so, even I was worried about her, it's a dead end, either way I'm going to disobey one of the two
— She's not eating and asked me to lie when I asked — I say
— Thank you — She says and goes towards Jennie's room.
Long seconds pass and then they leave together, Jennie glares at me and I just lower my head, she really scares me, I ate the food I brought from home and held myself back from cursing when the phone rang, even during my lunch time, seriously?
— Good afternoon — I say
— Who is speaking?
— Rosé, Miss Kim's secretary — I say
— Oh, you must be new, I imagine, I didn't know she had changed secretaries, this is her mother, Jennie has a terrible habit of not answering me on my cell phone — She says and I laugh
— She went to lunch with Lisa, Mrs. Kim, do you want to leave a message?
— Call me Ashley, dear, and yes, I want to leave a message, but please repeat it to her in the same words I say. — Ask and I'll get a notebook and a pencil.
— You can talk, if.. Ashley
— Tell her that I don't accept any excuses, I want her here on the day of her brother's engagement, enough of missing family events, you're already 24 years old and can very well deal with this situation rationally, I want her here on Saturday at nine o'clock sharp — Speak slowly
— Ready, ma'am.
— Thank you, dear — She says.
— It was nothing — I say and she hangs up.
Apparently she didn't get her dislike from her mother, the woman is very nice, thank goodness I was polite, imagine if I had been rude. I finish eating calmly while listening to low music on my cell phone, in 20 minutes the elevator opens and I see Jennie.
— Follow me — She says as she passes me, I take the notebook where I wrote down the message and immediately follow her, going to her desk, but standing, Jennie was sitting and staring at me non-stop — I gave you a direct order, Roseanne and I was completely clear
— I know, miss, but... I was already a little worried because you never ask for anything other than coffee or water, and Lisa said she was already hospitalized for it, and they are both my bosses, you have to agree that it is a difficult decision — I keep talking and she sighs.
— I'm not going to argue about it, but I'm not hungry, I'm not sick, that's all.
— I won't lie anymore, don't ask me that — I say — And I have a message from your mother — I say before she can protest
- Say
— Hm.. She asked me to say it with the same words she said
— She's just like that
— Okay — I say, opening the notebook — I don't accept any excuses, I want her here on the day of her brother's engagement, enough of missing family events, you're already 24 years old and can very well deal with this situation rationally, I want her here on Saturday at nine o'clock sharp
— That's all I needed — He says — Leave the room — She says stressed
— Yes, ma'am — I say and quickly leave there.
— Bring me a coffee — she says on the phone a few minutes later, clearly stressed.
I go to the break room and instead of coffee, I make tea and take it to her who was staring at the view from her room. As soon as she picks up the cup she takes a big sip thinking it's coffee.
— WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS?
— chamomile tea — I say, keeping calm
— Roseanne, I want a coffee — She says, trying to calm down.
— Too much coffee is bad, especially when you are already agitated, drink the tea right away to calm down, could you take my opinion into consideration just once? - I ask and leave the room.
Jennie didn't bother me again and I didn't hear any glass breaking, so I assume she didn't throw the cup at the wall when I left, I just continued my work until the end of the day. I was already in front of the elevator, waiting, when she came out of the room and stopped next to me, making me nervous. She got into the elevator and I followed her in silence.
— You were right about the tea, it calmed me down a lot — He says after a few seconds of silence. I look at her who just looks straight ahead without looking at me, she really hates being wrong.
— Is that the closest you can get to a thank you? — I ask, still staring at her, and she does the same.
— Don't abuse my patience, Roseanne — He says and I smile and look ahead
— Technically, you can't fire me, because we're no longer on working hours — I say and look at her again, Jennie smiles slightly and shakes her head.
The rest of the time in the elevator was silent, several people started to enter but they seemed intimidated by Jennie's presence and no one said anything.
