Jennie POV
— You didn't have to yell at her either, Jennie — Lisa says, the meeting ended a few minutes ago, now it's just the two of us in the meeting room
— She ruined hours of my work
— And she fixed what she did, if you hadn't screamed she would have done it anyway — Speak — Did you see how she was?
— I'm not blind, Lisa — I say, Rosé was shaking a lot, with red eyes and a slightly swollen face — She's an adult
— She's 19 years old, Jennie, and as far as I know, she moved alone to a city she doesn't even know. It can't be easy for her. Not everyone has the good life you had. — She says irritably.
— I know, Lisa, but she doesn't do anything right either — I say
— She's only been in this job for three days and you'll be very lucky if she doesn't quit today — He says and I sigh
— I know I'm wrong to yell at her
— Great, apologize — He says.
— It's not that bad
— Jennie, she was probably having an anxiety attack — He says.
— I'm going to my room — I say, standing up and she rolls her eyes, I'm not one to apologize to people, she knows that.
We left together and said goodbye in front of her office, Jisoo didn't look at me and ignored my goodbye, which was a surprise, we're not friends, we only exchanged words because of work, but she had never ignored me, even because I'm her boss, something tells me that Roseanne told her what happened.
I get to my floor, she wasn't at her desk, but her bag was there so she hadn't left. I go straight to my office and see that everything is clean. I stare at the view while I gather the courage to apologize. The back wall of my office is made of glass, so I have a beautiful view of the nineteenth floor and I love being there.
As the rest of the afternoon went by, I heard Roseanne answering calls normally. I didn't ask her for anything, and she didn't need to come here either. I was determined to apologize when the time was over, but it seems she's running away from me because as soon as the time was up, I left the room and couldn't find her, and she went upstairs, at least I tried.
....
I wake up early as usual, have a light breakfast and go to work, Rosé was already there and as usual she got up and greeted me, this time avoiding my gaze, I ordered a coffee and went to my office.
The coffee was great, which was a surprise. She left it in my office without looking at me and left right away. She seemed scared, which bothered me. Usually people are angry with me, not scared. But thinking about it now, it actually made a little sense. She's new, in a city she doesn't know, and I can't believe I'm feeling guilty about it.
The morning was peaceful, I had almost nothing to do and, as usual, I didn't have lunch. The afternoon was also peaceful, I ordered a coffee and read and signed some documents. Everything was peaceful until I heard some shouting coming from outside my office, male shouting to be more specific. I got up and opened the door to see a familiar face. I honestly don't even remember his name, but this morning I turned down a proposal that the company where he works made to me.
Roseanne tried to tell him to leave, but she couldn't, so I got in the way, he was about to hit her, she immediately flinched. I grabbed his arm and put her behind me.
— Better leave alone if you don't want to go to the police — I say twisting his arm, he tries to hit my face with another one but I hold him and kick his limb making him fall to the ground
I look back and see Rose, who looks scared.
— Did he hurt you? — I ask and she denies it, I put my hand on her back and make her go to my room — I stayed there — I say and close the door
I pick up my cell phone and call the security guard asking him to come to my floor.
— What do you want? — I ask, seeing him stand up.
— You can't just refuse the contract
— Get over it, this is the third time your company has tried and I have already made it clear that I do not want to do business with you — I say without understanding why he is being aggressive — I am not obligated to accept anything
He tries to come at me, but I grab his still confused hand and the elevator opens, the security guards come to him, grabbing him and taking him out, I would sue the company for this senseless behavior, it's not like Roseanne could have done something to him who is twice her size.
— Is everything okay? — I hear your voice
— Yes — I speak
— He got irritated out of nowhere when I said he couldn't talk to you without an appointment — He says, avoiding my gaze.
— Okay, I'll fix it — I say simply and turn my back, going back to my room.
The rest of the day went smoothly, tomorrow would finally be Friday, I really needed to relax a bit.
