"My king, please calm down."
"...."
"Please, let's think before doing this, your majesty."
"..."
"Your maj__"
"SHUT UP!"
All the knights froze as the King roared at them. The King's head finally lifted from his phone that he had been staring at for so long. His reddened eyes glared at everyone around him and every knight took a step back in fear.
It was on rare occasions that they saw this side of the King. They usually tend to see him being very calm and patient.
But that King was nowhere in sight anymore. This one looked like he would crush their windpipes if they dared speak another word to stop him.
The King marched over to the knight who was the one who spoke last and held his collar tightly.
The man started shaking in fear yet his head bowed in respect for his King.
"The next time you try and stop me from going to my son, remember to face my sword." The King seethed in anger at the man who whimpered and immediately went on his knees apologising.
The King's eyes found his phone and once again his eyes teared up seeing the face of his unconscious son, with his hands tied behind his back and forehead bleeding.
He couldn't figure out anything from the photo except that his son was hurt.
He couldn't even understand what place it was around his son since there was just a plain background that wasn't anywhere inside the palace so it was definitely somewhere else.
His son was taken. Away from his home.
The thoughts did things to him he couldn't explain in words.
Suddenly he was back in the past where he was holding his 5-year-old son in his arms and running in the corridors of his mansion. His eyes never leaving his son whose breathing was too shallow, as he begged him to wake up but his son just won't listen to him.
That was one day in his life that he remembers as if it was just yesterday. As if it was just yesterday his son was almost dying in his arms.
And now, he's back to that day, when his son is in danger and this time he can't even hold him in his arms and reassure him or scold him to breathe.
He's somewhere else, away from him, gone. Somewhere unconscious and vulnerable. He is even more bewildered at the fact that even Taehyung couldn't protect him.
For the first time ever, he was disappointed. He was angry at every single knight he left back to protect his son and they couldn't do it.
He was mad at himself for thinking that the deal would just go normally. That was the only reason he had left the safety of his palace.
