As the night wore on, Angela could see exhaustion creeping back into Lucy's features. With a small smile, Angela suggested, "come on you, bed." Lucy nodded, laughing, still clinging to her hand like a lifeline.

Angela led her to the bedroom, pulling out an oversized t-shirt from her drawer. "Here," she said, tossing it to Lucy, "this should be comfortable." Lucy caught the shirt, her cheeks flushing slightly at the gesture.

As Angela stood by the closet, slipping off her shirt and replacing it with an oversized one, Lucy couldn't help but steal glances at her. In the dim light of the bedroom, Angela's form was silhouetted, showcasing her toned abs and the curve of her hips. Lucy felt a strange warmth spread through her chest, her heart skipping a beat. *She's so beautiful,* Lucy thought, her gaze lingering.

Angela caught Lucy's stare and paused, her hands frozen on the hem of her shirt. "Something caught your eye attention luce?" she smirked. Lucy quickly averted her eyes, heat flooding her cheeks. "Yeah," she mumbled, Angela laughed, pulling the shirt over her head.

Lucy quickly changed into the shirt angela gave her, she felt eyes on her but she refused to look at her. She knew she'd blush and get all flustered...

Angela stood up, "I'll take the couch, you can take the bed luce." Lucy's eyes widened in surprise at Angela's sudden movement. "What? No, you don't have to do that," she stammered, reaching out to stop her. Their hands brushed together, sending a jolt of electricity through them both.

Angela hesitated, looking back at Lucy, her expression softening. "Are you sure?" she asked, searching Lucy's eyes for any hint of discomfort. Lucy nodded, scooting over to make more room. "I want you to stay," she said quietly, her hand finding Angela's once more.

Angela smiled, reassured, and crawled back into bed. They lay there, their hands intertwined.

As the night deepened, Lucy shifted in her sleep, her head finding its way onto Angela's chest. Angela lay still, She couldn't resist the urge to run her fingers through Lucy's silky hair, gently brushing away loose strands from her face. *She looks so peaceful,* Angela thought, her own eyes growing heavy.

Morning sunlight filtered through the blinds. Lucy remained curled up against Angela, her body relaxed and trusting in sleep. Angela, however, was wide awake, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't tear her gaze away from Lucy's peaceful features, her mind filled with a whirlwind of emotions. *She's so beautiful,* Angela thought, tracing the curve of Lucy's cheek with her fingertips.

Lucy's hair was spread out across her chest like a blanket, the delicate strands tickling her skin. Angela felt a warmth spread through her that had nothing to do with the rising temperature outside.

she couldn't bring herself to disturb Lucy. Instead, she simply watched her sleep, committing every detail to memory. It was in these quiet moments that Angela realised just how much Lucy meant to her - more than a friend, more than a responsibility. She was a source of light in the darkness, and Angela would do anything to keep her safe.

As dawn broke, Lucy began to stir, slowly becoming aware of her surroundings. When she opened her eyes, she discovered that she was still pressed against Angela, her head on her chest and her leg thrown over hers. Mortification set in immediately, and her face flamed a deep shade of red. She tried to move away, mumbling apologies, but Angela's arms tightened around her reflexively.

"Shh, it's alright," Angela whispered, her voice husky with sleep. "We both needed the comfort." Lucy froze, her heart hammering in her ears. *Why does this feel so right?* she wondered, her cheeks burning hotter.

She could hear Angela's steady heartbeat beneath her ear, feel the rise and fall of her chest with every breath. It felt like home. After a few moments, Lucy relaxed against Angela, accepting the comfort she offered. They lay there in silence, savouring the closeness they had found in each other's arms. For once, Lucy didn't feel alone in the world.

"Angela.." lucy spoke softly. Angela shook her head, pressing her finger to lucy's lips. "Not yet sweetheart, you just got out of a really bad relationship.. Give yourself time to heal."

With a gentle tug, Angela took Lucy's hand and guided her into the living room. The smell of fresh coffee filled the air as Angela moved toward the kitchen, still holding onto Lucy's hand. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of Lucy in her oversized shirt, her hair a mess from sleep.

"Breakfast?" Angela asked, already knowing the answer. Lucy nodded, her cheeks still flushed from their earlier closeness. Angela's heart skipped a beat as she squeezed her hand reassuringly.

In the kitchen, Angela busied herself with making pancakes, her mind racing with thoughts of the day ahead. She focused on the task at hand, flipping the pancakes expertly. As she worked, she glanced over at Lucy, who sat at the small table, sipping her coffee and watching her with a soft expression.

They enjoyed their breakfast in comfortable silence, the sweetness of the pancakes and syrup a welcome contrast to the bitterness of their recent memories. Angela watched Lucy eat, her mind already planning their next move.

Once they finished, Angela stood up and walked over to her closet, rummaging through the clothes inside.

She pulled out a pretty sundress, the fabric a mix of sunset colours that she thought would look lovely on Lucy. Turning back to her friend, she held it out with a hopeful smile. "Here, you can wear this, it would look adorable on you." she said, trying to keep her voice casual.

Lucy looked up at her, surprise and a flush evident on her cheeks. "Thank you," she whispered, taking the dress from Angela's outstretched hand.

As Lucy disappeared into the bathroom to change, Angela couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous anticipation. She knew that once they left this apartment, they would be stepping into a world of uncertainty, the day lucy told the police everything.
