The sun streamed through the window, casting a warm golden light across the room as Lucy slowly opened her eyes. She was greeted by the familiar sight of Angela's bedroom, a soft smile playing on her lips. Nestled in Angela's arms, she felt more at peace than she had in a long time. "Goodmorning sweetheart."
At the sound of Angela's voice, she turned to face her, meeting her loving gaze. "Good morning," she replied, her voice still groggy with sleep.
The endearment 'sweetheart' made her heart flutter, and she couldn't help but wonder if it meant something more. But she quickly pushed those thoughts aside, focusing instead on the warmth and safety she felt in that moment.
She couldn't deny the comfort that came from being held like this, cherished and protected. She nuzzled closer into Angela's embrace, relishing in the feeling of being cared for.
After enjoying a quiet breakfast together, Angela turned to Lucy, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "So, what do you think about decorating your new room today?" she asked, her voice laced with enthusiasm.
Lucy looked up from her cereal bowl, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. The idea of making the space her own, of creating a sanctuary within Angela's apartment, appealed to her.
"That sounds nice," she replied hesitantly, not wanting to get her hopes up too high. Angela beamed at her response, already envisioning the perfect setup for Lucy's room. "Great! We can go shopping after breakfast, pick out whatever you want. It'll be fun!"
Lucy's smile grew wider at the prospect of having something positive to focus on, and she nodded eagerly. Inwardly, Angela sighed with relief.
She wanted so badly to help Lucy heal, and this felt like a step in the right direction. *Maybe, just maybe, we can both find happiness in this new arrangement,* Angela thought, her heart swelling with love for luce.
She reached across the table and squeezed Lucy's hand reassuringly, her touch gentle and comforting.
As they finished their breakfast, Angela stood up and started clearing the table. "Why don't you go get dressed, Luce?" she suggested, knowing Lucy might need more time choosing an outfit that covered her arms.
Lucy nodded gratefully and headed to her new room, which was still filled with boxes. After rummaging through her belongings, she selected a pretty pink sundress with long sleeves, perfect for hiding the bandages that were a painful reminder of last night.
As she slipped it on, she couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous excitement about the day ahead. Angela, meanwhile, had opted for a black mini skirt and blouse, her style edgy yet feminine.
She watched Lucy emerge from the bedroom, her heart swelling with affection. "You look beautiful," Angela complimented, trying to ignore the stab of longing that accompanied the sight.
Lucy blushed, ducking her head shyly. "Thanks," she murmured, feeling self-conscious under angela's gaze.
Hand in hand, Angela and Lucy strolled down the sidewalk towards the nearby shopping center, the warm summer breeze playing with their hair. Lucy, still unaccustomed to the hustle and bustle of city life due to not being allowed out alone for years, found herself wanting to explore.
But Angela, ever watchful, held onto her hand firmly, guiding her through the crowd. When Lucy attempted to wander off, Angela pulled her gently but firmly back towards her side.
