The calendar on the fridge read October 31st, a day that had taken on new meaning for Angela and Lucy - their daughters' first Halloween. The twins were fast asleep in their cribs, oblivious to the excitement that the day held.

Lucy carefully lifted Alaya from her crib, cradling her against her chest as she adjusted the tiny white onesie that read 'First Halloween' in bold black letters. Alaya's delicate features scrunched up in protest at being disturbed, but she quickly settled as Lucy fastened the matching tutu around her waist.

Angela watched with a soft smile, Alora nestled in her arms and dressed identically to her sister. "They look adorable," she said, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from Lucy's forehead. "I know," Lucy replied, her eyes shining with pride.

"I can't believe they're already a month old." Angela leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Alaya's forehead before turning her attention to Lucy. "Ready to show them off?" she asked, her own excitement bubbling to the surface.

Lucy nodded, unable to contain her own grin as they made their way out of the apartment building and onto the decorated streets. The sound of children's laughter filled the air, and Lucy couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation for the many Halloweens to come with their daughters by their side.

As they walked, she found herself wondering what costumes they would choose for the twins in years to come - princesses, superheroes, maybe even little witches. For now, though, these simple outfits were perfect, a sweet reminder of their first taste of the holiday season together.

As Angela and Lucy made their way through the neighborhood, the twins snuggled securely in their arms, the festive atmosphere seemed to intensify. Alora and Alaya were oblivious to the costumed children running amok, their worlds centered around the comforting warmth of their parents and the soft rustle of their Halloween tutus.

Lucy felt a swell of pride as she held Alaya, whose tiny hands clutched at the fabric, her eyes wide with curiosity. Every door they approached elicited squeals of delight from the residents, who couldn't resist cooing over the adorably dressed babies.

Though neither Alora nor Alaya could partake in the sugary treats being offered, Lucy and Angela accepted them graciously, knowing that their friends' kids would appreciate the extra candy.

They chatted with neighbors, shared stories of their first month with the twins, and reveled in the simple joy of celebrating their daughters' milestone. Despite the exhaustion that lingered beneath their smiles, Angela and Lucy couldn't deny the happiness that filled them as they continued their Halloween adventure, cherishing every moment of this special day with their little girls.
