After the emotional and joyful maternity shoot, Angela and Lucy returned home, the excitement of the day still palpable. As Angela headed to the kitchen to prepare lunch, Lucy decided to change into her comfortable pajamas.

But as soon as she stood up, a sudden, sharp pain sliced through her abdomen, causing her to gasp. She felt a rush of liquid between her legs, soaking her dress and dripping onto the hardwood floor.

Panic surged through her as she realized what was happening—her water had broken. "*No, not now,*" Lucy thought, fear and confusion clouding her mind. "Angela!" she called out, her voice trembling.

Angela rushed in from the kitchen, concern etched on her face. "What's wrong?" she asked, taking in Lucy's ashen expression and the growing puddle at her feet. "My water broke," Lucy managed to say, her breath coming in ragged gasps.

Angela's eyes widened, and she immediately sprang into action, helping Lucy sit down and calling the hospital. The calmness in her voice reassured Lucy, despite the chaos brewing inside. "*We're going to be okay,*" Angela thought, her heart racing.

She took Lucy's hand in hers, offering a comforting squeeze as they prepared to embark on the next chapter of their journey—the arrival of their twins.

Angela's heart ached as she heard Lucy's desperate cries. She quickly gathered their things, trying to keep her own panic at bay.

She guided Lucy to the car, her arm wrapped securely around her waist, supporting her every step of the way. "*They're too early,*" Lucy sobbed, her fear echoing Angela's own thoughts. "We have to get you to the hospital now," Angela said firmly, her voice steady despite her racing pulse.

She helped Lucy into the passenger seat and buckled her in, grabbing a towel from the trunk to place underneath her. "It's going to be okay," she assured her, even though she wasn't entirely sure herself. As they sped towards the hospital, Angela called ahead, explaining the situation.

She kept one hand on the steering wheel and the other on Lucy's thigh, offering silent comfort as Lucy continued to cry, her fear and pain evident in every sob. "*Please, be strong,*" Angela silently prayed, glancing over at Lucy's worried face.

She focused on the road, determined to get them there safely and quickly. Her mind raced with thoughts of premature births and possible complications, but she pushed them aside, focusing instead on the strength of their love and their unborn children. They would face whatever came next together, as they always did.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Lucy was immediately whisked away by medical staff, leaving Angela feeling helpless and scared.

As she waited in the sterile hospital room, her mind raced with worst-case scenarios. But then, the pediatric surgeon entered with a reassuring smile, informing them that they'd managed to delay Lucy's labor.

Relief washed over Angela like a tidal wave, and she let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. "*Our girls need more time,*" she thought, clutching Lucy's hand tightly. The doctor explained that while it was still a delicate situation, the twins had a better chance now than they would have earlier.

Lucy, although visibly relieved, was still tense with fear. Angela leaned in, whispering words of comfort in her ear, her thumb tracing soothing circles on Lucy's clammy palm. "We've got this, babe," Angela said, her voice strong and steady. Lucy nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked at Angela, her rock through it all.

They'd been through so much already, and Angela couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in how far they'd come. Together, they'd face whatever challenges lay ahead, just like they always did—united, strong, and full of love.

The doctor's instructions were clear—Lucy needed strict bed rest to ensure the safety of their unborn daughters, but she could return home under careful supervision. Angela felt a mixture of relief and concern wash over her.

Home would be more comfortable for Lucy, but the responsibility now fell on her shoulders to ensure Lucy followed the doctor's orders. "*I can do this,*" she thought, determined to provide the best care possible.

She listened attentively as the doctor explained the signs to watch for and the importance of minimal physical activity. Once they were alone, Angela turned to Lucy, her eyes filled with worry. "Are you okay with this?" she asked gently, knowing how much Lucy valued her independence.

Lucy nodded, though her expression was tinged with sadness. "I just want them to be safe," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Angela smiled reassuringly. "Then we'll make it work," she said, squeezing Lucy's hand.

"We'll set up a cozy nest at home, and I'll take care of everything." As they prepared to leave, Angela couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation about the weeks ahead. But she knew that with love, patience, and understanding, they would navigate this challenge together.
