Hand in hand, Lucy and Angela made their way to the police station, their steps determined. The bustling crowd parted before them as if sensing their urgency. Once inside, they approached sargent grey.
As Lucy recounted the horrors she had endured at Chris's hands, Angela stood by her side, offering silent support. Her heart ached as she heard the tremor in Lucy's voice, saw the tears streaming down her face. She hated that Lucy had to relive those moments, but she also knew it was necessary.
When it came time to show the evidence, Lucy's hands shook as she handed over her phone, the numerous messages, calls, and bank statements painting a damning picture.
greys expression grew grave as he scrolled through the data, the photos of Lucy's bruised body eliciting a low growl of anger. Angela felt her own rage simmering just beneath the surface, but she forced herself to remain calm.
As Lucy spoke, Angela couldn't help but feel proud of her for finding the strength to come forward, to fight back against the evil man who had tried to break her. She vowed that she would be there for her every step of the way, a steadfast pillar of support as they navigated this new, terrifying chapter together.
Relief flooded Lucy's features as she finished recounting her story, and Angela gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. Just as they were about to leave the station, a commotion caught their attention. Turning, they saw Chris being dragged in, his wrists bound in cuffs as he struggled against the officers.
His eyes landed on Lucy, and for a brief moment, Angela saw the rage and hatred that had once been directed at lucy. Lucy shrank back, fear flashing in her eyes, but Angela stood firm, shielding her with her body.
The officers managed to subdue Chris, and he was led away, still shouting threats. Lucy began to tremble, her entire body wracked with sobs. Angela wrapped her arms around her, holding her close as she cried. "It's over, Lucy," she whispered fiercely.
"He can't hurt you anymore." But even as she said the words, Angela couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning. They had a long road ahead of them, filled with healing and justice, but she knew she could get lucy through it.
