On the 24th of December, the crisp winter air filled the bustling streets of LA, carrying with it the scent of fresh pine and cinnamon.

Lucy, her cheeks flushed from the cold, walked hand in hand with Angela, both of them bundled up in matching coats, gloves, scarves, and hats.

It had been a week since Lucy's release from the hospital, and she relished every step she took outside of those sterile walls. As they approached their favourite coffee shop, Lucy couldn't help but feel grateful for this simple moment of normalcy - the warmth of Angela's hand in hers, the sound of holiday music drifting out from storefronts, and the twinkling lights overhead.

She squeezed Angela's hand, her heart swelling with love and appreciation for the woman who had stood by her side through it all. "Remember," she said, her breath forming a small cloud in front of her face.

"No complaining about my costume choice tonight." Angela rolled her eyes playfully, her own smile evident beneath her scarf. "I wouldn't dream of it," she replied.

"Although, I have a feeling i am going to be embarrassed tomight." Lucy laughed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She couldn't wait to show Angela.

With the warmth of hot chocolate clasped between their hands, Angela and Lucy made their way home, their fingers laced together. The brisk winter air outside was quickly replaced by the comforting warmth of their cozy apartment.

Lucy and Angela kicked off their shoes, relishing the feeling of being home. They both changed into their comfortable pyjamas, Lucy's being festive red and white striped, while Angela opted for a more subtle holiday theme with snowflakes.

They headed to the living room, still hand in hand, and curled up together on the couch, the soft fabric enveloping them like a protective cocoon. Their hot chocolate warmed their hands as they settled in, the scent of marshmallows and cinnamon permeating the air.

"We have hours until the party," Lucy said with a sigh, snuggling deeper into Angela's embrace. "Might as well enjoy some downtime before the chaos begins." Angela nodded in agreement, pressing a gentle kiss to Lucy's forehead.

The hours seemed to fly by as Angela and Lucy immersed themselves in the world of Christmas movies, their laughter intermingling with the familiar soundtracks.

Eventually, the time came for them to get ready for the party. Lucy, with a devious grin, led Angela to the bedroom, instructing her to keep her eyes closed. "Trust me," Lucy said, her voice barely containing her excitement.

Angela, feeling a mix of curiosity, obliged. She heard the rustle of fabric and Lucy's barely contained giggles as she rummaged through the closet.

"Okay, you can open them now," Lucy finally announced. When Angela opened her eyes, she was greeted with the sight of her girlfriend holding up a bright red Santa costume, complete with white fur trim and a black belt.

Lucy's eyes sparkled with mischief as she presented it to her. "suprise," she said, her grin growing wider.

Despite Angela's initial resistance, the sight of the Santa costume brought a smile to her lips. She couldn't deny that Lucy's laugh was infectious, and besides, she owed her this one after the whole Halloween debacle.

With a dramatic sigh, she took the outfit from Lucy's outstretched hands and began to change. Lucy's giggles grew louder as Angela was finally dressed in the jolly attire.
