Several days had passed since their rooftop rendezvous, and now Sergeant Grey was hosting a barbeque for his officers.
Angela and Lucy found themselves lost in time once again, this time in the steamy confines of their shared shower. Water cascaded down their bodies as they explored each other's lips, their hands wandering aimlessly over slippery skin.
The scent of soap and shampoo filled the air, mingling with the lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Angela's fingers tangled in Lucy's wet hair, pulling her closer as their kisses deepened.
The sound of the water hitting the tiles was like a rhythmic heartbeat, punctuated by their stifled moans and gasps for breath. They were oblivious to the world outside, lost in their own little universe of passion and desire.
Angela's mind raced with thoughts of how far they had come, how much their relationship had grown, and how much she cherished these stolen moments together. However, a nagging sense of urgency began to seep in as she remembered the barbeque.
Reluctantly, she pulled away, pressing a final lingering kiss to Lucy's lips before turning off the water. "Baby, we gotta go," she said, her voice husky with need.
Lucy pouted playfully, her eyes heavy-lidded with desire. "Just five more minutes?" she pleaded, her fingers tracing circles on Angela's wet skin.
Angela laughed, shaking her head. "No, Luce. We'll be late." With a sigh, Lucy stepped out of the shower, allowing Angela to follow suit.
As Angela buttoned up her crisp white shirt, she couldn't help but steal glances at Lucy, who was standing in front of the mirror, applying a light dusting of blush to her cheeks. Lucy looked stunning in her pink floral sundress, her brunette hair pulled back into a Dutch braid adorned with delicate flower clips.
The sight of her partner looking so radiant sent a warmth spreading through Angela's chest, and she found herself smiling uncontrollably. *She always looks beautiful, but today...* she thought, her mind trailing off as she admired the curve of Lucy's neck and the way the dress hugged her figure.
"Hey," Lucy said, turning around and catching Angela staring. She grinned impishly, "Like what you see?" Angela felt her cheeks flush slightly, but she held Lucy's gaze, her eyes filled with love and want.
"Always," she replied softly, crossing the room to wrap her arms around Lucy's waist. They shared a quick kiss before Angela helped brushed her hair.
Descending the stairs of their apartment building, Angela's hand rested comfortably on Lucy's lower back, guiding her down each step with ease.
Upon reaching the parking lot, Angela opened the car door for Lucy, her chivalry never failing to make Lucy's heart flutter. As Angela slid behind the wheel, Lucy couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging, of partnership, that she had never experienced before.
The drive to Sergeant Grey's was filled with laughter, their shared energy infectious. Pulling up to the house, they noticed Tim stepping out of his vehicle, his eyes scanning the area.
Nyla and James emerged from their car next, little Lila hopping out excitedly while Nyla carefully cradled baby Leah.
As Angela parked, Lucy's gaze drifted towards their friends, a wave of affection washing over her. "Looks like the gang's all here," Angela said, turning off the ignition and reaching for Lucy's hand.
