Bella's POV:

The dance floor was a whirlwind of energy and laughter, but now I found myself at a quiet table, savoring a brief moment of solitude. I was still buzzing from the fun of the night, trying to take in all the surprises and new connections. The lively music and conversations seemed a world away as I sat with a drink in hand, trying to gather my thoughts.

Just as I started to relax, I noticed a familiar figure approaching. My heart skipped a beat. It was William. He looked different—nervous, almost hesitant, as he walked towards me. I straightened up in my seat, bracing myself for whatever might come next.

"Bella," he said, his voice carrying a mix of nostalgia and awkwardness. "Long time no see."

I met his gaze, determined to keep things professional and calm. "Hello, Mr. William. What brings you here?"

His expression shifted slightly, revealing a mix of surprise and confusion at my formal address. "Uh, just... catching up with old friends. And seeing you here—well, it's a surprise."

I gave a polite nod, trying to remain detached. "Indeed. It's quite the coincidence."

He hesitated for a moment, clearly struggling with his words. "I know this might seem out of the blue, but... are you seeing anyone?"

His question took me off guard. I raised an eyebrow, trying to keep my tone as neutral as possible. "That's a rather personal question, don't you think, Mr. William? I don't believe it's any of your business."

William's face fell slightly, and he took a deep breath. "I understand. I'm sorry. I just—could we talk for a moment? Alone?"

I looked at him, debating whether to agree. I had no reason to indulge his request, but something about his demeanor made me hesitate. "I'm not sure that's a good idea."

He looked genuinely pained, his eyes pleading. "Please, Bella. Just a few minutes. I promise it won't take long."

I shook my head, trying to stay firm. "I don't think it's necessary. We're at a party, and I'm here to enjoy myself."

He seemed almost desperate, his voice breaking slightly. "Bella, please. I need to talk to you. I'll explain everything, I just... I need you to hear me out. Don't walk away from me."

There was something in his voice—an earnestness that tugged at me. I sighed, feeling a pang of empathy. "Alright, fine. We can talk for a few minutes, but only because you're clearly upset."

He visibly relaxed, though the tension in his posture didn't disappear. He led me to a quieter corner of the venue, away from the buzz of the party. The silence was thick, and I could sense his turmoil.

As we sat down, he looked at me with eyes that held a storm of emotions. "Bella, I—"

Before he could continue, he broke down, tears spilling from his eyes. It was so unexpected that I found myself reaching out, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "What's going on, William? Why are you so upset?"

He looked at me through his tears, his voice trembling. "I can't explain everything right now. I just... I need you to stay. Don't leave me. Everything is going to be alright, I promise."

My heart ached at his distress, and I pulled him into a gentle embrace. "William, you're scaring me. What's happening? Why are you so emotional?"

He buried his face in my shoulder, his voice muffled. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come to this. I just... I needed to see you. I needed to tell you that I'm yours. I've always been yours."

His words were cryptic, leaving me more confused than ever. "What do you mean? What's really going on?"

He pulled back slightly, looking at me with a mixture of sadness and resolve. "It's complicated. I can't explain everything now. Just trust me, okay? Stay with me. Don't leave."
