Rain very lucky I was on my way back from May pen. Man have mi a drive through bush when him know how it set aready. Following the candles on both sides of the road I drove up to the yard he'd claimed he was; the gps signaled I reached my destination. Thank God for live locations.

Parking the Jeep I scanned the area before stepping out. There were people everywhere especially in the yard and gospel music blaring. Some funeral thing this. He said he was standing across from the shop in the yard so I walked up towards the shop stopping in my tracks when she walked out the shop with Sophia.

I didn't realise I'd see her again so soon,
God she was beautiful. Her braids were up in a bun on the top of her head, a light pink fitted dress hugging her curves.
Sexy as fuck too.

They crossed the road and I watched them walk up to Rain and stand beside him. I chuckled Rain no easy at all, an fucka think him slick. I made my way over to them. Sophia smiled saying hi and Nyasia's eyes widened in surprise. So she's just as surprised as me, Good.

"Goodnight." I said to everyone except Rain.

She bit her lip looking away from me not meeting my eyes. She looked sad but still breathtakingly beautiful.

"Soon forward B." He said to Sophia and she slowly untangled herself from him.

I chuckled inwardly, these two were toxic.

"Weh e thing?" I asked as we were alone.

"Mi av it, weh you want it?" He answered.

"No ina no long talking wid you, you know you can't be all over the place with the things like this. Mi tell you do di drop off before you go weh you ago, business before pleasure bad man."

If he was only an employee to me this would have been it and he knew it. He was pushing past the limit cause weh him even deh ya so a do? Deh bredda ya know better than this, him lucky wi a close friends.

He smiled and I shook my head. Nigga think a joke thing mi deh pon to.

"No bother dark up e place Don, mi know you did ago forward a May pen so mi just bring it wid mi. Did a plan fi come meet you half way if anything."

I had a feeling he just wanted me here but I didn't say anything. The unnecessary driving was hella risky and perilous. He knew the pros and cons, what if there were sudden spot checks by police and I bet he even had Sophia in the car with him, that in itself was a risky move.
Him need more than a warning, friend or not.

I had to get it to the suppliers before I reached work in the morning. Normally I wouldn't even have a hand in this but Rain was leaving for Mexico in the morning as well. He couldn't handle it and he was one of the two persons I trusted with this, the other person was off the island and would be back in two days time.

"Ah cool. Nah go push the argument now but we ago talk, know dat." He nodded and I wanted to cut the smile off his face.
Him ago get the shock a him life.

Handing him the keys I watched the area carefully as he went to transfer the stuff from his vehicle to mine.

A police van drove by and I shook my head. The lights blinked and I frowned,  Rain walked up to me and handed me the keys.
Babylon a do ya so?

They parked and went into the yard the music was playing in.

"What's this?" I asked Rain.

He shrugged.

"Wa dem a keep Rain?"
Man act dense sometime.

"Oh Candle light and prayer meeting. Some people call it nine night."

I nodded.

"Who passed?" I asked out of mere curiosity.

"Her sister." He answered, nodding to Nyasia as we reached walked to where they stood.

Damn.

That's why she looked so unhappy, I had no idea. Her and Sophia were standing on the sidewalk while we stood on the road. I hadn't noticed there were so many vendors on the roadside.

She was successfully trying to ignore my presence which both intrigued and annoyed me. I wanted to say something to her, offer my condolences or something at least.
You just want her to look at you, yeah true.

There was something about her eyes, the way she looked at me that really pulled me in.

She visibly sighed and rolled her eyes as a short light skin man walked up to where we stood.

He nodded to us and Rain answered, I ignored him.

"Asia." He said eying her.

Pushing my locks out my face I saw her eyes flick over to me watching the movement. I positioned the locks carefully out of my face, our eyes locked for a few seconds before she looked away. She was clearly upset.

"Come here fi s sec." The man urged, She just stared at him.

He stepped closer to her and she shrunk back. She tried to mask her fear but it wasn't hard for me to catch.
She fraid a him.

"Asia stop e fuckry no." He insisted his voice raising.

He stepped closer and I intervened, surprising myself.

"Yo just calm down, it doesn't seem she wants to talk to you." I said to him.

His face morphed into anger and then he laughed.

"A who you bredda? Mi woman mi a deal wid come out a dis."

I stepped up to him watching his shoulders slump back as he looked up into my face.

"Just bill, she nah medz you right now." I said calmly to him. His eyes narrowed and he took a step back, throwing one last look at Ny, he walked away hissing his teeth.

Waste man.

That was her man? The fact that she even had one pissed me off, dampening my already bad mood. It wasn't surprising in the least but you see woman...
Jah-Jah.

I walked over to a vendor sitting under a make shift stall my eyes following him through a gate that led into the yard.

Need something to drink.

Something strong preferably but I'd just settle for a water since I had a long journey ahead of me. I also needed to stay alert, Rain had me doing his job.
Him ago regret it.

Walking back to them I noticed Ny was missing. Probably gone back to her man to talk.

I chuckled darkly, my irritation too palpable.

Why did I even intervene?
