"Beth!"

The sound of frantic shuffling echoed throughout the kitchen, shaking the ceiling as Beth ran around upstairs.

"Beth!"

The noises became louder, footsteps slamming on the floor.

"Elizabeth Anne Miller!"

Finally, after twenty five minutes of hollering, a small girl came bolting down the staircase crashing about the whole way down.

"I found them!" She grinned, running into the small kitchen with a wide smile that stretched from ear to ear. She was a mess of dark hair, dressed in a little blue dress with white lace cuffs and matching socks. She held her shoes up in one hand, little black sunday shoes, and giggled.

Rose ruffled a hand through her hair and she giggled again.

"Well done, smart girl. Go put 'em on our we'll be late."

Beth nodded brightly and scattered off to the front door whilst Rose finished packing the small girl's lunch. It was an odd day for both of them, her first day of elementary school and it was a big change. It felt like Rose had been here forever and only for a moment all at once. It was strange to think that at one point she hadn't even known this child, and now she was the centre of her world.

Rose had spent the last four days roaming the streets, something she knew how to do thanks to Klaus, but something she also knew she couldn't do forever. She had spent the entire first day searching for her family, figuring that was the best idea. It wasn't.

She had then come to the decision that she needed somewhere to stay. If she could get situated and stable then she would have a better chance of finding them. And so she had spent the last three days applying for every job and apartment/hostel/house/room she possible could.

As it turns out, it's incredibly difficult to gain anyone's trust, let alone the governments, when you have no birth certificate, no family, no documentation and no address.

It's pretty impossible actually.

Rose was down to her last few options now. She sighed heavily as she arrived at her newest destination. Infront of her was an old, seemingly run-down shop with a small apartment above. It was in a state of disrepair, but not completely destroyed.
