Chapter 1: Into The Trance- Cessyl Orchestra

~•^*^•~ Elaine's POV ~•^*^•~

Colorado was dreary today as I rush hurriedly stride towards the well lit store. On any other day, the soft red and white glow of the sign out front would beckon me for my own pleasure but today was different... Warming my cold hands in the pockets of my hoodie was best I could do in the wet spring chill before opening and rushing through the door to find some relief.

"Welcome to GameStop, let me know if I can help you with anything." the employee calls out before tending back to stocking the shelves with various boxes of games. I peel off the hood that protected me from the weather outside and let the hair tucked inside fall out and over my shoulder. My hoodie, slightly tattered at the sleeves and stained from all the times it's been worn was the only layer of protection I had from the imminent rain. Hopefully it doesn't hit before I leave.. focus Elaine.

Today was not just for a simple peruse. We have a purpose for being here today. Seamus needs a birthday present and if I wasn't so procrastinatory I would've had his gift weeks ago. It doesn't help that outside factors (including the lack of car) led to this predicament either.

I picked at my sleeves as I wandered through the store searching for anything that stood out to me that he would like. Behind me, I heard the door open and the employee greet another guest as I examined a case designated to hold a DS and it's games. Eventually I gave up on the Knick-knacks and made my way towards the outdated sign that titled 'New Arrivals' and browsed the selection alongside the other guest. The number one item on my list since I got on the bus was Bioshock 2, something I know he would probably play the most out of all the newer games on the market.

There!

I locate the last copy on the shelf and reach to grab it- at the same time the other guest made to grab it. Our cold fingers just barely graze one another as we both wrap our fingers around the case at the same time.

"Uhh, excuse me." A warm deep voice states dryly clearly just as annoyed with me his selection is being sought after. I look over at the source of the voice and meet eyes that look just as warm as the voice it pairs with, both giving me the feeling I've know him my whole life. Strong sharp features paint around those eyes and his dark hair waved over each other like the crashing of the sea against itself. His pale skin seemingly brightened his eyes just a little more and his lips settled into a thin line from the encounter we were having.

Elaine pull yourself together!!

"Yea I kinda need this.." he continued snapping me out of my trance. If I wasn't so set on fighting him, I would've thanked him for pulling me out of my own head.

"Really? Because I think I might need it more." I tug slightly at the case and his grip tightens, brushing my fingers once again. There was no way I was getting that case out of his hands on pure strength. He cocks his head slightly and squints his eyes which I mock back at him.

"Seriously. This isn't even for me. My friend's birthday party is soon so I'm kind of getting him this."

"Listen bud it's mine. You're not the only one with a friend whose party is today that wants this game." I spit back at him. You tell him! I reassure myself to hold my ground. His shoulders tighten slightly at my retort before rolling them back as if my words were a physical wave he was needing to brushing off. I couldn't help but stare at the vein on his neck that protruded slightly when he did so. Wait stop it. I'm supposed to be hating him right now.

"I'm sorry but can't you go to another store or something. I need this for my friend. Seamus literally wants nothing else from me!" I whine as he gives me a somewhat startled look.
