Chapter 3: Wildest Dreams- Taylor Swift~•^*^•~ Alek's POV ~•^*^•~
Elaine turns on the camera and looks at the ones she has already taken before snapping more of the party. Watching her was surprisingly interesting as she focuses on every detail of the room taking in the vibes and scenery. As she's taking a photo I rest my head on her shoulder to see the picture through the screen. The picture looked like one of those moments you're lucky to capture on camera as it zooms in on Ashley and Seamus together as Ash laughs at a joke told by James with Seamus staring admiringly at her. After Elaine snaps the photo, she giggles lightly causing me to look up at her.
"That tickles." She says softly which causes me to laugh softly as if we both were sharing our deepest secrets. She places her camera back from the table which is snatched by Eddie to which he disappears from both of our views causing Elaine to shake her head. We adjust ourselves so we are sitting cross legged on the couch facing each other. We talk for a bit. After a while my hair started to fall into my eyes. Just as I was about to fix it myself, she reaches across our laps and brushes my hair lightly away from my face, treating me delicately. She smiles and bites down on her lower lip causing me to grin back at her. I hear a click of a camera in the background which I assumed was Eddie taking derpy photos of the party.
She looks out at the scene then down at her lap, taking her hands to her necklace and fiddling with it. I watch her intently and smile to myself. She looks back up at me with her gorgeous blue eyes and I can't help but stare.
"What?" She whispers with a drop of concern like there was something wrong. I shake my head and smile.
"Nothing." I snake my hands around her waist and lay my head in the crook of her neck. Her hair smelled like strawberries and vanilla. I sighed as she wraps her arms around my neck and fiddles with the hair on the back of my neck. She leans her head lightly against mine and sighs back as if we were communicating. Her phone dings and she looks down then sighs even more.
"Who's that?"
"No one. Just someone that's annoying me." I couldn't have helped to think that it was her boyfriend. I pull away and she groans.
"But you were sooooo warm!" I chuckle she drags me into the next room where the fireplace is going.
"I am soooo cold Aleks. Aren't you." She complains. Just as I'm about to speak she cuts me off.
"Oh wait I forgot you're Russian, and people from Russia don't get cold. Freaks."
"Hey don't call my people freaks!" I stand next to her and laugh as she warms herself.
"Thank you." She blurts out in the silence of us standing there.
"For what?" I glance over at her.
"For helping me. Gosh I didn't know I would ever become friends with someone that I almost physically fought over a video game. Jeez. Yeah but thank you. For paying for me to. I'd still be walking home if you didn't help me out."
"No problem. I only wanted to help. And me too. But I'm pretty lucky to have a friend like you." We sit down and warm up by the fire in comfortable silence.
"So can I ask you something?"
"Sure why not." She replies.
"Have you ever had some of the wildest dreams that one day your life would just turn around and change forever?" She stays quiet for a few moments and stares into the fire.
"Yeah I guess I have. I always had this dream I would end up with someone that would treat me like a princess and I'll be standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset. We'd be so happy. Have a house and kids- with a dog of course. Like when we met it would spontaneous and it'd be picture perfect. I mean right now I feel like I'm stuck drowning in all this mess. I want someone to pick me up out of it and whisk me away to happily ever after. That's my complicated wild dream." She looks over at me and grins at me while shrugging then back at the fireplace.
"What about you? What's yours?" I clear my throat and chuckle lightly.
"Well mine is that I'd someday just be able to find someone I can be myself around. I can have a family with her but still be freaking awesome at everything. See my family is kind of complicated and I guess I don't want to be complicated. I want this cool, chill relationship. But like I want it to start like nothing almost. I don't want any sappy love story with love at first sight kind of deal. But right now I'm stuck with dealing with all those losers to even think about love. I swear I'll be single forever." We both chuckle at the sentence and she suddenly looks at me with an excited look.
"Tell you what. I may not know you that well but here's a thought. If by the time you're 30 and we both are single, we'll get married. But only if we get to be friends throughout the time between now and then. I'm not marrying a complete stranger!" I think about what she offered and smiled.
"Deal." She claps in excitement and smiles back at me.
"Really!? Ok Pinky Promise!" We lock pinkies and seal the deal. The room falls in comfortable silence and we both stare at the warm fireplace. She leans her head on my shoulder for a second then gets up. Shouts come from the other room beckoning her to which she replies,
"Coming." I sit in silence for a moment thinking about our outrageous deal then get up to join the party again. When I get to the couch Elaine and Eddie are on the couch with Elaine sitting on his chest refraining him from getting up.
"Get up and share the couch Edwin!" She yells at him.
"But I'm comfy!!" She slaps his hands and they then start fighting like little kids.
"What's going on?" I ask in the middle of my laughter.
"SHE WON'T GET OFF-"
"HE WON'T GET UP!!" She loudly interrupts him. I chuckle and pick Elaine up by the waist. She squeals and try's to push me away but I don't let go. It's funny that she thinks that she's strong against me. Sly jumps off the couch and runs away. After giving Eddie a head start, I put Elaine down and she takes off after Eddie yelling,
"Come back and let me love you!!" Eddie giggles uncontrollably and runs around the house with Elaine at his feet. Shaking my head I sit down and engage in the conversation currently going on about new games. I see Sly run by and into the next room and then Elaine. She pauses at me and takes a sip of my Pepsi Max that I held in my hand then takes off in the opposite direction to meet Eddie face to face. Steven sits down next to me and chuckled.
"So... My sister huh?" I turn my head quickly and look at him with wide eyes. I totally forgot she was his sister. I mean they look similar but it just slipped my mind. He sits waiting for a response to which I scratch the back of my neck and nervously chuckle.
"What?"
"You heard me, do you like my sister, yes or no?" He stares at me. I suddenly feel 100 times more nervous and start to stutter.
"Uh- well, um. She's really ni-nice. I mean.... I just met her and she seems like a really good person." He laughs and shakes his head making me even more serious.
"Come on Aleks. I don't care if you do. You're not a bad person. As her brother I will be protective over her but as your friend, I will support you to go after her. She needs someone to take care of her like I do. She needs someone right for her. You seem like the type that she would be happy with. So please. If you do like her, tell me." I bite my bottom lip and shrug.
"Yeah I guess I do. Well not I guess... I know I do. She just makes me so nervous, I feel like I'm truly happy with her. And I've only known her for a couple hours. But she probably has a boyfriend. I mean look at her. She could get any guy that she wants."
"Yeah. But listen to me Aleks. Something is up with him. He seems super suspicious to me and Elaine is hiding something about him. Please watch out for her Aleks. She lives her and I don't. I'm in college and can't take care of her like I did when we were in high school. Please promise me you will." I nod my head.
"I promise."
