10. I'm Ready

Chapter 10: I'm Ready- Geographer

~•^*^•~ Elaine's POV ~•^*^•~

We scramble into the car as Aleks fumbles to start the car. I turn on my seat warmer and Aleks grabs my hand. We smile at each other and he leans in and kisses me on the cheek. Wow. I never felt this good before, was Aleks the one? Was he the one I am destined to be with? I close my eyes and sigh. I did talk about all those wild dreams I have when I met him and so far, he seemed like he was fulfilling that dream. My life was so complicated.

"Ok where to?" Aleks asks gazing into my eyes.

"Um, well I need to get my new glasses and my meds so Target then we can go grab a bite to eat somewhere?" He grins and nods.

"Sounds good. Is Chipotle ok?" Aleks doesn't take his eyes off the road. I reach over and play with his hair.

"Yeah. Are you ok?"

"Yeah, just thinking." He shakes me off and grabs my hand again not letting to go.

"Does it have something to do with me?" I ask curiously.He looks at me as we stop at a red light. He kisses my forehead and smiles lightly at me.

"You're always on my mind. I will never stop thinking about you, Elaine." I smile back and lean back in my seat. Maybe he does like me and I just am being blind. Of course he likes me Elaine, Eddie said so himself. I lean my head up and watch the rain fall on the sunroof.

I wake up to Aleks shaking me.

"Elaine, are you up? We are here." I groan and stretch. Aleks was such a wonder boyfr- wait no he isn't your boyfriend Elaine. Get yourself together. We walk in akwardly standing next to each other our shoulders just brushing. Some creepy guy was staring me down and giving us -no scratch that- giving me looks.

"Aleks?" I whispered.

"Already noticed." He replies, his voice soft. He then wraps his hand around my waist and holds a firm but gentle grip on me.

"Thanks." I say louder as soon as we get inside.

"Yeah trust me I noticed. I don't like it when people stare like that." He turns and smirks then leans down and kisses me on the forehead.

"You know I will always be there to protect you."

"So what do we need here at Target?"

"Um we need a lot. I have a list on my phone. Oh also my meds, my glasses, and I need to pick up an order that Whitney placed." He stared at me in shock.

"Wow. That's a lot. Well lets get started." He paused for a second and looked back at me as he brushed a hair out of my face.

"You need new glasses?" He looked amazing in his sweatshirt and beanie. I scooted in closer towards his side.

"Yea my eyesight has gotten worse. I hate it. It's just been seeming to get worse after..." I trail off I meant to say after the whole Bryan incident but I couldn't tell him that. It was a weak spot for both of us.

"After he hit you?" He mumbled softly. I nod my head and grimace holding back tears.

"Aw it's alright. Your safe now." He pulls me in for a hug and grabs my hand and swings it back and forth as we walk to the pharmacy section.

We approach the pharmacy and she lets go of my hand as she reaches for her wallet.

"Blake, Elaine Blake." She smiles as the nurse turns around and grabs her bag.

"Here you go ma'am." The nurse hands her the bag and smiles.
