" You take Emma! I'll get Mia!" Jay called to Kai, who grinned and nodded. Jay ran close to his sister leaped for her, enveloping her in a hug as they rolled on the ground.
" Hey!" Mia laughed as she clutched onto his gi. " That's cheating!"
Jay shook his head, holding her close to his chest. " No, it's called catching your sister who has a hint of lightning in her."
Mia laughed. " You know you're also fast because you're the lightning elemental!"
Jay chucked as he picked her up in his arms. " Yeah, I know."
Annie came in, twirling her bag with a serious expression. " So.... I just heard there's an animal."
Mia's ears perked up, and Jay set her down. " What?!"
Emma, who was going to be caught by Kai, froze. " Where?"
Rose came running in, breathless. " Forest Avenue!"
Emma's eyebrows shot up. " That's the street name! What animal could need help on the street?!"
The girls shot her a look.
" A scared tiger cub trying to get to it's mother." Rose replied.
Emma squealed. " Big kitty!"
Mia's eyes widened with excitement, her previous laughter now replaced with a sense of urgency. "We have to help!" she exclaimed, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Jay, still holding onto her arm, looked at her with a raised brow. "A tiger cub? Forest Avenue? Are you sure this isn't one of those pranks again?"
Rose shook her head. "No prank this time, Jay. I heard it on the news, and people are calling in for help!"
Kai walked up next to Emma, who was still grinning at the thought of a "big kitty." He sighed and crossed his arms. "Alright, I guess we're going on an animal rescue mission now, huh?"
Mia gave him a determined look. "Of course we are! That cub needs us!"
Jay chuckled. "Well, count me in. I've always wanted to see a tiger up close. But we should be careful—it's not exactly a house cat."
Annie, who was still twirling her bag, nodded. "We need a plan. It's a tiger cub, which means the mother is probably nearby. We can't risk getting caught in a dangerous situation."
"Good point," Kai agreed. "Let's figure out how we're going to do this without ending up as tiger snacks."
Emma, still in her own world, suddenly gasped. "Can we name it?!"
Mia groaned and rolled her eyes. "Let's focus on saving it first, then we can talk about names."
With the group now on board, they quickly gathered what they needed and headed out to Forest Avenue. As they approached, they could hear the distant growls and whimpers of the tiger cub, and the group slowed down.
"There it is," Rose whispered, pointing to a small, trembling cub huddled behind a bush.
Mia's heart melted as she saw the little tiger. "Aww, it's scared."
Jay nodded. "Let's get this cub back to its mom before things get worse."
Mia looked at the others. " Emma, you're with me. Kai, Annie, when we rescue the cub, make sure it's not injured. Rose, Jay, lookout duty."
They nodded, and set off to work.
Mia slowly inched her way to the cub, talking soothingly to the cub. " It's okay," she whispered. " Come to Mia."
