" It's a lovely day!" Mia exclaimed as she walked to the pool. " Perfect for a swim!"

Jay waved. " I have to go in. Kai wants me to help him with something. Will you be okay?"

Mia nodded. " I'm eight, Jay. I can handle myself in the pool!"

" Always move your body." Jay advised. " Touch the bottom! Oh, an-"

" Jay, I'll be fine." Mia reassured him as she turned.

Jay sighed. " Okay.$

As soon as Mia heard the door close, the squealed and jumped in, ready for the warmth to envelope her.

Except it didnt.

She let out a blood curling scream. " IT'S FREEZING!"

Kai and Jay and Charmander and Blackie and Pikachu rushed to her.

" What do you mean it's co-" Kai asked as he dipped his hand in, but stopped cold and pulled his hand out.

" Mia get out! Now!" He yelled.

Mia shivered as she climbed out. Jay held her as Kai ran next to them, his hand lit on fire.

Ten minutes later Mia was sitting in front of a fire, surrounded by a fire elemental and a fire dragon, sipping hot chocolate and covered in ten blankets

Ten minutes later Mia was sitting in front of a fire, surrounded by a fire elemental and a fire dragon, sipping hot chocolate and covered in ten blankets.

" How was it cold?!" Jay mused as he sat opposite of Mia.

" I... K..now....on...et...hing......" She shivered.

" Pika?"
What's that?

" P...ur a hea...ter...int...he...b...be...ll..."

Mia shivered violently as her teeth chattered, trying to hold onto her mug of hot chocolate. Her face had turned a light shade of blue, and her fingers were almost numb. "I... I can't... feel my hands," she managed to get out between shivers.

Kai furrowed his brow, his worry deepening. He glanced at Charmander, who immediately lit a small, controlled flame on Mia's fingertips. The warmth slowly spread through her hands, and Mia sighed in relief, her shivering subsiding slightly. "Oh... that's good," she murmured.

Jay, sitting across from her, frowned in concern. “How did it get that cold so fast? It’s supposed to be warm out today! I don't get it!”

Mia sniffled, pulling the blankets tighter around herself. “I... I don’t know. One minute the sun was out, and the next, the pool felt like ice...”

Charmander moved closer, trying to offer more heat, while Pikachu stood on the edge, sparks jumping off his cheeks in anticipation. “Pika?”

Kai was pacing back and forth, his hand still ignited as he thought things over. “There’s no way the pool should have been that cold unless... something's tampered with it,” he muttered. “Blackie, any chance you saw anything?”
