" I'm heeeeeeeere." Mia called in a sing song voice as she waltzed into Emma's room, holding the jug of juice.
Emma and Annie jumped up and squealed. " This is amazing!" Annie cheered.
" Now we can start our overnight baking!" Emma added
Mia grinned. " Let's get started!"
" What should we bake first?" Mia asked as she put a chef's hat on her head
Annie mused. " Hmmm.... Cupcakes, I suppose?"
Emma nodded eagerly. " Yeah! And let's pretend we're on TV!"
Mia picked up a whisk. " Oh, hello fans." Mia said in her best British voice. " Today, we are going to be teaching you lovely animals out there how to bake cupcakes."
" ANIMALS?!" the two girls screeched. " MIA!"
" What?" Mia whispered. " It's fun to call people animals."
" But we're on TV!" Emma hissed
" Oh yeah."
She turned back to the camera. " I apologize. First, we will need sugar and flour."
" I have the sugar." Annie said as she put it on the counter.
" And I have the flour!" Emma added.
As she was walking to the counter, though, she slipped commercially on a spill of water. The flour opened, then.....
Bam!
Flour spilled everywhere, and the girls were covered head to toe.
Mia turned to the camera, her face a mixture of amusement and horror as she struggled to wipe flour from her eyes. “Uh… Technical difficulties! See you later!” she said in a hurried voice before turning the camera off.
“Great job, Emma!” Annie laughed, trying to wipe flour off her cheek. “You’ve turned us into walking marshmallows!”
Emma, giggling, tried to swipe some flour off her hair, only to find herself inadvertently smearing it further. “I didn’t mean to! It was an accident!”
Just then, Blackie sauntered into the room, his tail flicking curiously. He paused mid-stride, his eyes widening as he took in the scene before him. “What in the world happened here?” he meowed, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Did someone forget how to bake?”
Before any of the girls could respond, Blackie leapt onto the counter to investigate the spill, his paws sending flour flying everywhere. The kitchen quickly transformed into a winter wonderland, with flour clouds drifting through the air.
“No! Blackie, wait!” Mia exclaimed, but it was too late. The cat landed in the bowl of leftover flour, kicking it up like confetti, and soon the room was filled with a white haze.
