⚠️Warning: little battle ahead, contains a minor mention of blood, violence and angst⚠️

As I stood in the bathroom still in the pure chaos, I saw Silver slowly coming in through a wall next to the mirror. Just a bit to the left and he would come straight out of the mirror.
"Hi, Sonic," he greeted me with a sheepish smile on his face and I sighed in response while giving him a greeting nod.
"Hey," I uttered shortly before approaching the mirror to examine the symbol on my neck again. Lifting my hand I gently ran my finger over it, only to wince upon the slight sting my touch caused there.
"Wow. This is incredible," Silver commented while looking at the symbol with amazed expression on his face.
"Heh... the worst thing is, that I can't get rid of it, Silver," I complained to him while looking at him through the mirror for a brief moment, before my gaze landed on my neck again.
"I know. Once a royal vampire forms such contract, the only one element required for breaking it is death of either the vampire or the 'blood donator', as the vampire folklore calls these loyal, mortal partners," Silver revealed more of the truth about such contract and I frowned while staring at him through the mirror.
"But I am immortal as well," I stated and turning around I walked towards the door with Silver following me.

"Yeah, I know. The folklore does not speak of anyone abound with immortality becoming a partner of the royal vampires, this might be actually the very first time such a thing happened," Silver replied and flew through the door, before I could even open it. Leaving the bathroom I headed towards the stairs and ascending them I went straight to my room, allowing Silver to come with me. It was nice to have such company, Silver seemed to know really a lot about everything around and I liked to listen to him carefully.
"Whoa, hold on, I am not his partner," I lifted my hands in defensive manner and saw him getting comfortable on the bed. I took my shoes off and sitting on the bed I leaned comfortably against the big pillow, whilst Silver sat in front of me.
"Oh, you silly hedgewolf, it does not mean a romantic partner. It is a partner in general. The contract is now connecting you with your vampire and you better be grateful for it, because you have got the privilege of being protected by him anytime you find yourself in some trouble," Silver softly chuckled and I rolled my eyes at the way he addressed me.
"Oh come on, I can take care of myself!" I whined and crossed my arms.
"He knows that, Sonic, but he won't be able to help it, the contract's power will make him act, if he ever senses you in some dangerous situation. And I mean, you were running away from a werejackal during the full moon night. Now tell me, if you had not come across this mansion, where would you end up instead?" the ghost elaborated and gave me a really good question, which got me to actually think about it.

"I got Tails out there, so, once I would find him, I am sure he would help me defeat Zero," I simply shrugged, for I didn't have any better idea. Zero was unstoppable that night and it was my pure luck, that I managed to find this place, which kept him away.
"Oh, Sonic, you are aware, that wereforms are the strongest and most powerful during full moons, right?" Silver slowly shook his head and I frowned at him.
"Of course I know that! But Tails would be also strong, he's a werefox, for your information," I retorted.
"I see. It would be a difficult battle between them then and it would depend purely on who is more durable and powerful. How good is Tails in combat?" Silver's words set a bug in my mind. Tails is out there, alone and if he gets to meet Zero, he might be in great danger, if he is just a bit weaker than the werejackal.
"He can be really feisty and managed to kill many rogue vampires during our lifetime," I confessed calmly, yet felt worries filling my core.
"Plus, I saved him from the werejackals, when I found him being bullied by them. Over time, we practiced combat skills together, so... I hope he is good enough in combat to defend himself out there," I added and let out a soft sigh.
"He has a big chance of survival out there, don't worry too much about him," Silver outstretched his hand towards me and kind of touched my shoulder, but his fingers ran through my flesh, which made my fur instantly stand up, as a chill ran down my spine from his icy cold touch. Even colder than the vampire! Upon noticing my body reaction he quickly retracted his hand and nervously giggled.
"Sorry about that," he apologized and I just brushed it off with a simple hand motion.
