I woke up at around 5 am, it was still pitch black outside and the guest room was only dimly illuminated by the lamp lights from the outside. The curtains were halfway closed, so only minimum of the light got in through the exposed part of the window. A feeling like being watched took over me and I slowly sat up while rubbing my eyes in order to clear my sight, so I wouldn't see just a big blur surrounding me. At one point, my eyes landed on something dark standing or sitting in the corner of the room and I did not even need any of the lights to reveal it for me, because I would recognize those amber eyes everywhere. None other but Terios was in the room with me, but oddly enough, he came here in his cat form. He was actually just slightly bigger than a regular house cat, yet he still looked rather intimidating. Maybe because of the way he just sat there in the dark corner and watched me. I felt my fur stand up from the thought of how long he was there. He could have been there for the whole night!
"Your majesty?" I whispered and hung my legs over the edge of the bed while resting my bare feet on the fluffy carpet underneath.

His pointy cat ear just flicked a little in response and his eyes never left my figure. He was really scaring me with such stare.
"Hey, uh... I know what you want, but.. I can't just give it to you anytime you ask for it," I tried to calmly explain the issue to him and he finally stood up on all fours, made a few silent steps towards me and then suddenly stretched his limbs. Well, he has a cat form after all, so it was only fair of him to do this. As he came a bit out of the shadows, I could see two long fangs decorating his cat mouth and a single crimson stripe leading from his forehead, across his spine to the base of his long tail, where it faded into the black color and sort of continued on the fluffy tip, which was mostly just as vermillion. His following movements snapped me out of the thoughts and I tensed up, when he got closer to me while still looking at me with those big amber eyes. Fortunately, his pupils were dilated in a round shape, so he wasn't THAT scary at all, yet the nervousness taking over me was still very real.

He easily jumped up onto the bed beside me and I completely froze, as my heart picked up the pace in my chest. I did my best to not keep an eye contact with him and felt him moving his snout close to my shoulder.
"Y-Your majesty... please," I barely whispered, afraid to startle or upset him by speaking any louder. He sniffed my neck and I started innerly panicking, whilst the fear utterly locked my body in spot, not allowing me to move even an inch of my body. I was straight paralysed! I could now only pray to all existing Gods for Terios to not do what I think he is up to. Much to my great shock and surprise, the vampire cat just gently rubbed his head against my chin afterwards, which also perfectly confused me.
"Your majesty?" I whisper-called him by the title for the millionth time by now (it felt like it) and dared to look down at him. He did not respond and casually laid on one half of the bed while stretching his body again and yawning in the process. Eventually, he curled up on the bed and silently watched me. Why was he acting so strange right now?

"Are you... feeling okay?" I asked him carefully and felt like I am stepping on a thin ice. One wrong step and I am going to drown in the freezing coldness of the bottomless lake. Once again, I got no response from him and saw him rest his head on the big pillow before closing his eyes. He wasn't here to drink my blood... was he? I was still really tensed and stiff, as I got properly onto the bed with hesitation while cautiously keeping my eyes on him. He now looked rather peaceful, when he seemingly tried to get some rest, ocassionally flicked one of his pointy ears and even quietly purred in the process.
"Alright, good night, your majesty," I whispered and slowly laid down, but my mind kept me busy and wide awake anyways. I stared up at the ceiling, doing my best to not look at my sleeping companion. Rather unexpected companion, I have to admit. Not to mention, that he decided to visit me in his cat form, which he has never done before. I snapped out of my thoughts, when I detected a motion next to me, so I turned my head in his direction and looked at him again. He changed his sleeping position before becoming completely silent again. Even his purrs were now gone.
