The next morning, when I was going to have the breakfast with Terios and Rouge, I got abruptly stopped by someone banging on the front door. The sudden noise startled me and I felt a bit nervous, as I started making slow steps towards the entrance.
"Who's there?" I asked at first, but nobody responded at all, so I even believed, that maybe I just imagined it. Afterwards, I could hear a flapping noise behind me and turning around I saw Rouge transforming there to her mobian form.
"We've got some unexpected visitors, mobian chameleon with a small rabbit," she announced. Of course, she works as a good spy here.
"Alright, you think we can let them in?" I asked her carefully and before she could respond, the vampire king himself arrived and opened the door.
"Good morning, sir," the small female rabbit instantly greeted him in a soft tone of her voice and the said chameleon seemed to hold her close to his body, as if protecting her.
"What brings you two here?" Terios asked them cautiously and I noticed him slightly narrowing his eyes in the process.
"We apologise for such unexpected arrival here, but we've been camping in the forest and lost our way back home. We travelled all around and ended up finding your mansion instead," the purple chameleon explained, his voice sounded similar to Terios', but was a bit deeper. I looked at the strangers from head to toe, they both wore ponchos over their shoulders, the chameleon's was dark brown, the rabbit's soft pink. The chameleon also wore a dark grey camo pants and heavy black boots. The rabbit wore a dark blue jean shorts and high top black-pastel yellow and pink sneakers.

"And I suppose you are now asking for a hospitality," Terios calmly objected and the two mobians nodded in agreement with the vampire's statement.
"Alright, one night and the next morning you'll be gone," Terios set up a clear rule, which the both mobians seemed to agree with.
"Thank you, kind sir," the rabbit smiled at him and as Terios stepped aside, she was the first one to enter the mansion while looking at me.
"Hi!" she waved her hand in a greeting manner while smiling before suddenly letting out a dramatic gasp. I managed to softly smile at her, before a little scowl formed on my face.
"Hi, heh, what's wrong?"
"It's you! You are the Fast Lightning!" she exclaimed and held her hands together while interlocking her fingers. Terios closed the door afterwards and led the chameleon towards the kitchen while gesturing me and the rabbit to follow them. I also noticed Rouge's absence and the clanking of plates in the kitchen perfectly explained it.

"Fast.... Lightning?" I repeated the rabbit's words.
"Hihi, apologies, I am Cream by the way. I heard many stories about a fast hybrid living somewhere in the Dark Forest and never believed, that I could actually meet him in person!" she elaborated and I slightly blushed while rubbing my quills in a nervous manner.
"Ah, yeah, that is me," I confirmed and she clapped her hands in response while letting out a happy squeak.
"Uncle, it's him! It's the Fast Lightning!" she rushed to the chameleon's side and tugged on his arm, whilst he was silently eating the breakfast given to him by Rouge, who set the table for everyone present here. She herself sat down on one of the chairs and gladly ate her portion. I descended on a chair between her and Terios and couldn't calm my racing heart. I was flustered from getting recognised by the rabbit and even given such a cool nickname I myself was unaware of.
"Is it?" the chameleon raised an eyebrow while looking at me, as he was sitting opposite of us along with Cream.
"Yeah, I am Sonic, the said 'Fast Lightning'," I confirmed with a nod.
"Oh, where are my manners. My name is Espio and it is really an honor to meet you, Sonic," he offered his hand for a handshake, which I wasn't really used to, since I have been growing up away from any civilization. I awkwardly took his hand and he gently shook mine in the greeting manner before letting go of it, so I could rather rest it in my lap while using the other hand to eat my breakfast.

This time, we had sandwiches filled with so many ingredients, that I could not name them all. But they were super delicious and I enjoyed every single bite thoroughly.
"Have you recently had any trouble with vampires, Sonic?" Espio suddenly asked me such a deep question, which caught me slightly off guard and I instinctively looked at the vampire king next to me.
"No, not at all," I replied carefully before just minding my breakfast.
"We came across some dangerous group of them, but protected each other," Cream piped up while smacking her lips at how delicious the sandwiches were to her.
"Yeah, heh, rogue ones, right?" I nervously giggled and she nodded in response.
"Yes, they're really nasty," she replied while eagerly munching her sandwich until it was gone. I tried my best to not think of my past, but it was hard to forget.
"Sonic, since you live in the forest, do you think you could hopefully help us?" Espio piped up and snapped me out of thoughts, as I glanced up at him and shrugged.
"Depends on what is your request," I retorted.
"We need to find a way back to the civilization, where we came from. Those rogues chased us only deeper into the woods and that's why we got lost," he elaborated and I thought about it for a while. I knew, which way one could get to the civilization, but I did not want to risk showing up there, in case the mortals living there would see me in the bad light and go after me. I already had enough with the rogues.
"I understand your situation, but-"
"I can help you," Terios suddenly spoke up, which cut me off and I widened my eyes in shock.
"But- your majesty, it's dangerous!" I panicked and everyone then glanced at me. Terios and Rouge with warning in their eyes, Cream and Espio with shock in theirs.
