𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒘𝒐

the four had decided to camp out in a clearing for a few hours to get some rest. octavia and clarke were sleeping but arabella and bellamy stayed awake.

arabella's head rested on bellamy's chest, his hand running across her hair.

"the last time i saw you, miller was dragging you away. then clarke closed the dropship door." bellamy sighed, glancing at clarke. "i wanted to run to you, but i couldn't"

"i know, bell." arabella whispered.

"what was it like in mount weather?" he asked her.

arabella was quiet for a moment. "well even before we found out about the grounders i didn't like it. they wouldn't let us leave. i had a breakdown or two. threatened a lot of people, as usual." she let out a small laugh. "i went a bit crazy, i just wanted to find you."

bellamy pulled arabella closer to him. "you found me, sweetheart. i'm not leaving you again."

"you promise?" arabella looked up at him, her eyes soft.

he looked down at her face, his heart hurting seeing all the cuts and gashes. "i promise."

clarke stirred in her sleep for a moment before waking up.

"hey, blondie." arabella smiled.

"hey, ella." clarke sat herself up. "did you guys get any sleep?"

"it's ok. i'll sleep when we find finn." bellamy replied, his hand still moving over arabella's hair.

"and i'll sleep when i'm in an actual bed." arabella joked. "god, i forgot how uncomfortable this shit was." she shifted slightly on the ground. 

"you haven't seen him, clarke." bellamy told the blonde girl. "losing you, the others, the war, it changed him." 

arabella looked over at clarke.

"he executed the grounder that drew us the map." bellamy confessed. "pulled the trigger without even blinking and walked away." 

clarke blinked and shook her head. "that doesn't sound like finn."

bellamy shook his head. "no, it doesn't." there was a moment of silence. "i saw what he was capable of, and still i let him go with murphy and two automatic rifles."

"i'm sure that had to be done." 

"when i got back to the dropship and no one was there, we assumed it was the grounders." bellamy spoke, his hand moving to arabella's arm, slightly squeezing it. 

"of course, you did, bell." arabella told him. "you couldn't have known it was the mountain men. no one could have." 

"how long until chocolate cake turns into being hung upside down and drained for their blood?" bellamy asked the two girls. 

"we don't know. but we don't have much time." clarke answered. 

there was a long moment of silence before bellamy spoke again. "ok. first we find finn, then our people in mount weather."
