Team-bonding. That was what Maeve described her day out in Amsterdam with Joost as. It was nothing more to her. Simply, two friends out in the bright midday sunshine in late winter. Was it actually? They savoured every moment they had together, knowing their time was limited. So when Joost suggested to spend time in the city, Maeve was buzzing with excitement.
Alanis and Apson, who finally had gathered the courage to confess their feelings and soon became the parents of the group, gave the girl blank stares of scepticism. They did so every time their friends were near one another.
The Albino Sports team was well aware of the sentiment between Joost and Evie, much to their nescience. Though it was obvious.
Their eyes would search for the other in a room full of people, and scintillate when they would successfully find them.
Both of them were victims of loving physical contact. That lead them to constantly yearn for it, comfortably being each other's haven. Diminutive touches of their fingertips would be enough to plaster a simper on their faces.
And the long, intimate conversations that followed their outings with their friendgroup, only the pair could ever get a taste of. Maeve and Joost thought their devotion endured hidden from the other and their peers, but they were wrong.

"What are your plans after graduation?", Joost inquired as they walked through the Vondelpark.
It wasn't busy, except for a handful of runners and dog-owners with some of them being accompanied by their children. The weather was still too chilly for the citizens to find the courage to leave their homes.
"I don't know", Maeve shrugged, meeting his blue eyes in the meantime,"Probably moving back home for a bit and find artists to work with."
The blonde man would lie if he said he did not dislike her intention to leave the country, and him. Joost liked Maeve, if not more.
"You don't want to stay?"
Evie averted her gaze to observe the bare trees and bushes fencing the path of the park. She was anticipating the arrival of summertime. The city was even more beautiful during warm seasons.
She sighed: "I miss my family and I need to be home for a while. I love the Netherlands, nonetheless."
Joost hummed, not quite satisfied with the girl's response. His scrunched nose divulged his original thoughts to Maeve. She understood him like no other.
"What, are you going to miss me?", she piped out to the man, teasingly.
He rolled his eyes to the back of his head but unable to hide the smile: "Of course! It's not everyday you meet a beautiful, talented woman who makes the best apple pie in the world."
Maeve's elbow collided with Joost's side to stop his flattery which made him huff. The Irish girl was not the most skilled in receiving compliments. She struggled to figure out what to answer every time.
"Unfortunately, this won't make me stay."
"Please, please, please, please Eves! I need you here. How am I supposed to survive alone?"
"Oh, come on!", Evie cried out,"You have Stuntje, Apson, Alanis, Teun..."
"Okay, fine. I get it, but I still want you to stay", Joost held his nose up high.
