𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇...
Joost Klein falls for the unreachable woman who happens to be in a light-hearted affair wit...
Evie and Alanis' eyes sparkled as they walked through the small alleyways of Tokyo. Joost had indeed gone through with his plan to travel to Japan, his excuse being a music video shoot.
To his surprise, his girlfriend did not question his reasons and agreed to film. And they did, together with some Japanese rapper. Everything went according to his imaginary script. Appie and Daan were filled in on their friend's situation, and luckily kept their mouths shut.
Ali was purposely left out, just in case she would spill the secret.
Carelessly, the friend group wandered through the city, stopping by every tourist attraction. The girls skipped as they lost themselves in the charm of the town. A perfect blend of nature and modern architecture casted a spell over the visitors.
As Studio Ghibli fans, they were obligated to take a look at the museum dedicated to the works. They reminisced about the movies they grew up with and loved dearly, leading Evie and Daan to argue about the best one. The girl swore on Totoro whilst the Dutch man put his money on Castle in the Sky. Of course, they couldn't agree to disagree.
Another day was spend in Kyoto at the Fushimi Inari Shrine, to Alanis a must. Maeve and her best friend rented yukatas as they failed to force their companions to jump on the train.
"Is that Omokaru Ishi?", Ali gasped at the sight of a semi-long queue.
"That being what exactly?", Daan queried.
Evie explained excitedly: "A fortune-telling stone! You're supposed to make a wish, then lift the stone to the top. If it's light, your wish will be granted and if it's heavy, it's not meant to be."
The best friends darted toward the line, patiently awaiting their turn. Ali went first, closing her eyes to desiderate. She lifted the stone and easily set it onto the column.
"Definitely light."
Evie thought for a moment. She had many things to wish for, but determined on the sooner questions. Her mind repeated the wish three times. Surely, she grasped onto the stone and raised it to its place. She smiled as the rock almost flew itself at the levity.
"I guess we're lucky", she chuckled at her brunette friend.
"I don't believe this", Daan shrugged, manoeuvring toward the attraction.
Quickly, he thought of a longing. Like his friends did before, he heaved the stone ball up the column. He groaned as he realised the weight fought his strength.
Daan panted as he finally reached the top: "What the hell..."
"Well, man", Joost grinned,"Maybe next time."
