This is probably normal for a thirteen-year-old girl as I split my eyes open, with my iris darted towards the clock; the first thing every young teen will think about ... time, "Ugh...It's still 11 pm, time passes so slowly" I mutter. I just can't sleep. I'm way too excited for tomorrow. Our school is holding an audition event for people who want to become Hollywood actors and I definitely want to go for it. It has always been my desired dream to become an actress. Who knows? I might be able to play as Rey Skywalker from Star Wars; even though there is an extremely low chance of that happening.
That thought keeps hovering around my head like an unstoppable bike ride. Butterflies fly all around my stomach thinking of what character I'll play. I just can help it, so I tried texting my friends, but they didn't answer. Since that didn't keep me motivated, I decided to think of something else. Therefore, I slowly got out of bed and silently went into my baby sister's room. I sprinted towards her cradle and I elegantly looked at her adorable face, resisting not holding her. But as usual, I can't resist, so I carefully lifted my four-month-old sister, Addilyn, out of her cradle and spread her over my arms.
My pupils shifted towards her unopened eyes. My hands ran over my sister's body, and I attentively looked at her small body parts. What tiny hands! What a tiny face!
All that thought of gracefulness dashes away when Addilyn's eyelids shift upwards, revealing a light-green pupil exactly like mine. Her mouth opens and screams. Oh no, my worst nightmare, she's crying.
I immediately start swinging her back and forth, and she cries even louder, the sound spreading over the house. Thoughts promptly come to my head ... Should I leave her and let Mom take care of her? Or should I just stay with her? I don't know what to do. Fear starts growing into my nerves, my parents will wake up any minute. I'll get into big trouble.
The door bolts open, with a recognizable figure entering in. The lights flash open and the figure comes closer. She was petrified.
"Lara, what on earth are you doing here?" Mom yells as she quickly grabs Addilyn from my hands. "Go back to your room, now!"
And I do, I don't want to keep Mom's moodexasperated although she has been like that for the whole day. It was allbecause of my damn science mark and now she's treating me like a demon. Islowly stepped out of Addilyn's room and headed back to mine. I reach over tomy bed and lie down eagerly. I had a tiring day, especially with all thoselectures my mom gave me today about 'paying attention in class'. So I adjustedmyself to my bed and rolled my blanket over. My eyelids steadily drovedownwards until ... I instantly fall asleep.
