Someone is still knocking impressively hard for the past hour.

I don't know if anyone can hear that or not, but I'm going to check.

------------------------

I slowly follow the sounds of the enigmatic knocking. I pass through the interminable hallways and enter the Grand Room. That's where I progress through the kitchen and head on my way to the main hall. I smell the faint scent of the expensive air freshener brush through me.

I gloomily follow my steps to the entrance of the mansion where I could see a monstrosity of a chandelier above me. It's extremely high-tech as well, we were just having a disco party with that for my 'late-birthday' earlier.

The sight of the humongous, pearl door petrifies me. I am not ready to open that door to whoever is knocking intensely. I proceed carefully to the enormous door and see through the tiny peephole of it. I try to spot anyone who might be the cause of the knocking, but there is no one to be seen. At the same time, the knocking sound ends.

This is starting to give me the creeps. I don't believe in ghosts, but I'm starting to think it's real.

Whoever this spooky, sinister monster is must show himself; I ain't getting near that manifest, gigantic door. My inquisitiveness drifts around my brain cells, thinking about whether I should open the door or not. I learnt that I should not open doors to strangers when I was four, but ten years later, I abandoned that lesson.

I tensely opened the door and left it ajar for a few seconds. With wanting more answers, my hand tremulously touched the door handle and pushed it downwards. It pulled the door wide open and I step out to start finding the culprit.

I look around the garden surrounding the front of the mansion. I could see gorgeous flowers and great green grasses as well as a cobbled pathway leading to the entrance of the front yard. The stars were glimmering in the midnight-blue sky, but were eliminated by the belligerent clouds. The full moon was only seen, which was like a bright and polished disc hung up in the sky. Yet this was also halfway covered up by the rogue clouds.

Now all I see are giant evil clouds, who are maliciously taking up all the light. The clouds were trembling with anger which commenced the rain. I was literally freezing as if I got a frostbite, so I quickly headed back inside and closed the door behind me, still not knowing who caused the knocking.

I follow my steps back to my room and that knocking started all over again. I was filled with frustration which told me to go back to the main door as fast as I can.

------------------------

I sprinted all the way to the door and opened it in split seconds.

No one was there.

That's when it got on my nerves. I was full of indignation and exasperation, ready to throw a tantrum. That mischievous knocker better reveal himself or else I'll go on 100% chaotic, insane mode.

I searched the front yard in anger, not minding getting wet. That dude is seriously senseless. Why in the world is he knocking at midnight?

I then hear the slight sound of moving bushes, which caught the attention of me. I searched in between the bushes to find who it might be.

"Reveal yourself!" I shout out.

"You made a mistake to come here ... same old foolish Lara," I clearly recognize that voice. "I hope you didn't notice that you had a great science mark."

He adjusts himself straight, clearly visible to my own eyes. From his dark-brown hair to his wickedness, clearly a trait of a villain.

I question ferociously "What are you doing here, David?"
