I can't believe what he just said; he destructed Richard's feelings. I have never seen him exceedingly depressed.
"You should've known that this would hurt Richard's feelings! Why did you say it?" Mrs. Jenny furiously asks.
"I don't care what other people feel. It's good to care about yourself," he says back.
"You're being a bad role model!" she shouts out.
I think Richard is growing his temper as I see him getting full of exasperation. His body had gone crimson and his legs sprint him towards David. He adjusts his hands to a position in which he is ready to box. He starts to punch him like a ferocious beast by using all his might.
"Stop! Get off me, selfish boy!" David demands and that only makes Richard fight even worse. Some punches led David to the ground and that's where utmost action starts. David actual shoots his gun at Richard's leg which is streaming with blood, but he still doesn't give up. He punches David till he's streaming with blood too; I never knew Richard was that fierce. I watch in silence at that chaotic episode.
"Enough!" Mrs. Jenny shouts as she pulls Richard, who's acting like a monster, away from David.
"You're not done with me yet, Richard," David says harshly.
That just angers Richard even more and I'm about to see another turbulent scene until Mrs. Jenny says, "That's enough David! Your actions are too much! It's a good thing I teamed up with the British Police Force when I got here, to bring an end to your actions ..." she announces and the so-called British Police Force arrived at that moment.
------------------------
After that whole arresting of David thing, it turns into one ecstatic scene. Lara won't let go of her mom and she won't either. I'm glad they're united again; I don't want to see Lara facing melancholy again.
Rose is dumbstruck; she doesn't even know what's happening. I try to snap Rose out of her reverie and bring her to the time when we succeeded in stopping David.
Mrs. Jenny, curious, tells Rose, "Hi there, you must be Lara's friend. What's your name?"
"Rose, Richard's cousin," she replies and adds. "Want to come over to my house? We can't celebrate here you know. It's an awkward place."
"You're right ... so where is your house?"
"Two miles from here. I'll call my mother; she can pick us up. I mean, who would walk two miles?" I'm glad she brought the jokes, yet that reminds me of Richard, who's sitting alone in the corner.
I come closer to him and he doesn't look like he's in good shape. He's covered in blood-colored bruises; not to mention the awfulness of Richard's leg wound. It's burned extreme black by the gun David used to shoot him. Looking at the gush of blood all over him makes me guilty that he's all alone.
I find myself saying to him, "Is your leg okay?"
He turns towards me and responds in an extremely gloomy voice, "Yeah, will be."
"I'm sorry for you. I know that David is really evil, but what he said happened a long time ago. At least your mother is still alive, that's a good thing to count on."
"I know that she's alive, but what I feared about is that if she ... didn't make it then I would ... not even be here ..."
"Don't think like that, Richard. It's all over in the past and just be glad that she's alive. You never even knew about this in the first place. Plus, David might be lying, so don't always believe him."
"I guess so, thanks, Maisie. Who knew a friend I had since kindergarten would help me in a time like this? I only became your friend that time, because you had the coolest toys," he chuckles.
"Well, you were only five and basically all five-year-olds rely on the coolness of toys," I laugh out.
A shiny, white limousine parks next to us and Mrs. Caroline takes a step out.
"Hi mom! Glad you're here!" Rose smiled.
"So, this is your mom, right?" Mrs. Jenny asks and Rose nods her head instantly. "Woah, I never realized at first. It's rare for people to be driving a limousine."
"Her parents are successful and popular business owners, so they're rich," Lara adds.
"Hello there, Mrs. Jenny! Nice to meet you. Come in and we'll drive you to my house, I'm sure you would love our coffee there," Mrs. Caroline says joyously.
"Great, thanks!" Mrs. Jenny replies and we all get in the car except me and Richard.
"Can you walk?" I ask Richard.
"Maybe not, but a man has got to do his best," he replies ironically.
"I'm delighted to have the Old Richard back; that's the only one I'll stick to," I giggle. "Maybe let's get to the hospital first."
In that same ironic tone, he says, "Oh no, I am so scared. Ha-ha."
"Back on track."
