Chapter 22: Richard

We slid into the tunnel in an instant, sliding to somewhere mysterious. Alan keeps complaining about how we'll get back up and it's starting to get on my nerves. I really have no idea when his phobia will be over; it seems to be lasting forever.

We reach the end of the endless slide and see a whole new world. It's a futuristic robotic house which looks like it's from the year 2100. Everything is robotically controlled. Alan and I eagerly discover every bit of the house, but it doesn't always end well when you broke into a house.

"Dad, there are intruders here!" screeches Chloe. She's basically the meanie of our school and is the daughter of David Ronald which means we found David's hiding spot.

David races downstairs and catches us red-handed, yet that's when I pull out my gun and point it towards him. "We want answers, David," I said daringly.

"Answers? For what? And where'd you get that gun from?" David responds savagely.

"A daredevil has his secrets and I want to know where Lara and Maisie went."

"Me? You think I kidnapped them?" I have literally no clue what he's talking about, but I'm pretty sure he kidnapped them. "Think again, Richard. Those foolish girls ran away from me and ended up in London."

Oh ... my ... god.

I never thought they were in another country like how? When? Where?

I should not be 100% sure though since I got this information from a criminal who is capable of lying, so instead I say, "How do you think that?"

"Well, it was kind of hilarious seeing Maisie jumping into an air cargo box with a passed-out Lara," he giggles.

"I don't believe you, I know it's a lie!"

"Your fault for not believing, not mine. You'll know one day that I'm telling the truth. Anyway, it's time for your life to end."

"What?! Why?" Alan blurts out.

David faces towards him and says, "I don't want you telling any police officer about my hideout nor do I want Richard telling this to his mommy," he faces toward me and points a gun at me, "Am I right?"

I literally have no idea what to do now and Alan is freaking out. My empty brain has to think of something; it can't stay empty all the time. My sight then catches a staircase which whirls all the way up to freedom. Instead of facing the end, my arm takes a hold of Alan's arm and my legs move as fast as a cheetah all the way up the stairs.

"You can't get away that easily," David shouts but my instincts ignore his words and my legs move even faster than ever.

We run all the way up and back into the forest. That's where we see the sight of the city and rush off to it.

At least this mission succeeded when we lost David, that's all I needed. I'm going to London.
