Sai sat in the garage, his hands still dirty from working on cars, and his face smudged with black oil. He leaned back against the wall, smiling to himself as he thought about his last date with Pon. It had only been yesterday, but he already missed him. The upcoming date was different—this time, Sai had planned it, and he was filled with anticipation.

As he looked at his watch, he felt a shift in his emotions. His mind wandered to past relationships, ones that hadn’t been as sweet. His first relationship was with a woman who had cheated on him. He still remembered the moment he found out—she had been distant for a while, and he discovered she had been seeing someone else behind his back. She said it wasn’t him, that it was her, but the betrayal cut deep.

His next relationship was with an older man. At first, Sai had been drawn to the man's strength and confidence, but it turned out to be a toxic situation. The man was controlling, always criticizing Sai, and making him feel small. Sai stayed in that relationship far longer than he should have, hoping things would get better, but they only got worse. That experience left a lasting mark on him, one that took time to heal.

Then there were the two other relationships—one with another man and one with a woman. Both had ended the same way, with the other person telling Sai he deserved better. Each time, it hurt, not because he didn’t agree, but because it felt like he was never enough for someone to stick around.

Now, sitting in that garage, thinking about Pon, Sai felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time—hope. Pon was different. There was a warmth, an innocence about him that Sai cherished. He didn’t want to miss out on something real, something good. Sai believed that the universe only gave second chances once. If he let this chance slip by, he knew there would be no going back, no reason to regret it later.

With that in mind, Sai stood up, ready to get cleaned up for their date. This time, he was determined to give Pon and their relationship a real shot, without holding back.

As the clock struck 7 p.m., Pon found himself standing in the heart of a bustling local market, the kind of place he never imagined visiting for a date. His fingers tightened around the strap of the small bag slung across his chest in a V-shape. He shifted nervously, feeling slightly out of place in this unfamiliar environment. The market buzzed with life—vendors calling out their wares, the smell of street food in the air, and people hurrying about—but no one seemed to notice him. It was both calming and unsettling at the same time.

He looked around, standing exactly where Sai had told him to wait, and let out a small sigh. Pon had dressed up for the occasion, wearing something that, in his eyes, was both cute and elegant—perhaps a little too fancy for the setting, but he wanted to look his best. He wasn’t used to places like this for dates. Normally, he would go to a nice café or a restaurant in the city, but this market was a different world.

Just as he began to feel slightly self-conscious, Sai appeared and gently tapped Pon on the shoulder. Pon turned around, and Sai couldn't help but smile at the sight before him. Pon looked absolutely stunning. His clothes, though fancy for the location, only enhanced his beauty. Sai’s thoughts raced: My god, he’s so beautiful. How did I even get so lucky?

Though the clothes were clearly more suited for a more formal setting, Pon looked like an angel—pure and radiant, almost out of place in the busy market, yet somehow fitting in Sai’s world perfectly. Sai shook off the thought, focusing on Pon's soft features and the warmth radiating from his presence.

"Hey, Sai, what are you doing? Let’s go," Pon said with a shy smile, breaking Sai’s trance.

"Right, let’s go," Sai replied, grinning. He reached for Pon’s hand, their fingers interlocking naturally. As they started to walk, Sai teased, “You know, you’re going to get lost if you don’t hold my hand. This isn’t exactly a place you’re familiar with, is it?”
