Krit dialed his father’s number and waited as it rang. It was 3 am in the morning . His father answered on the third ring, his voice groggy but attentive.
“Krit, what’s happened today?” his father asked.
“Dad, I’m really sorry to wake you, but I need to explain what happened tonight,” Krit said, his voice tight with stress. “Vel went missing for a bit during the party. When I finally found him, he was in the bathroom with Emma—Emma Kitpakorn. You know, the daughter of that politician, Prasert Kitpakorn?”
There was a pause on the other end. “Emma Kitpakorn? Yes, I’m familiar. What did she do to Vel?”
“She said some really hurtful things,” Krit continued, his voice trembling slightly. “She called him awful names and tried to break him down. Vel’s been having nightmares because of his past—his abusive mother and difficult childhood. Emma’s words triggered a lot of old trauma.”
Krit’s father took a deep breath. “So, this is really serious. Emma Kitpakorn is known for being quite… relentless.”
“She is my classmate I had no idea about this reputation of her. ” Krit admitted.
“ But what's important is Vel’s been crying non-stop, and he’s terrified. I don’t know what else to do right now.”“Alright, here’s what I can do,” his father said firmly. “Come to my office tomorrow morning at 10 AM. We’ll sort this out. For now, stay with Vel and make sure he’s safe. I’ll arrange for some support and we’ll talk more about what needs to be done.”
“Thank you, Dad,” Krit said, relief flooding his voice. “I know this isn’t easy, and I appreciate your help.”
“Just make sure Vel is okay tonight,” his father replied. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Remember, this is important. We need to address this carefully.”
“Understood,” Krit said, his voice softening. “I’ll be there. Goodnight.”
Krit ended the call and turned back to the bedroom. He slipped into bed beside Vel, who was still sleeping fitfully. Krit wrapped his arms around Vel, hoping to offer him some comfort and protection.
Krit’s anger was boiling over. As he lay beside Vel, who was finally beginning to find some semblance of peace in his sleep, Krit’s jaw clenched and his hands balled into fists. He could barely contain his rage over what Emma had done to Vel.
He stared at the ceiling, his mind racing. “Emma Kitpakorn,” he muttered under his breath, his voice low and seething with fury. “You think you can just hurt my Vel and escape if dad won't I'll do something myself. ”
His anger wasn’t just a fleeting emotion—it was a burning resolve. He knew he needed to act, to confront the damage Emma had caused, and to ensure that Vel would never have to endure such cruelty again. Tomorrow would be the beginning of putting things right, and he was determined to see it through, no matter the cost.
The next morning, Vel woke up alone in the bed. His heart raced as he found the space beside him empty. Panic set in, and he bolted out of the room, screaming for Krit. His mind, still shaken from the previous night, feared the worst.
Krit, who had been in the kitchen preparing breakfast, heard the commotion and rushed to Vel. Seeing him in distress, Krit immediately pulled him into a tight embrace.
“I’m sorry, Vel,” Krit said softly, his voice filled with concern. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I just wanted to make you breakfast.”
Vel, still trembling, slowly began to calm down in Krit’s arms. He took deep breaths and tried to steady himself. Krit gently pulled back, looking into Vel’s eyes. “You don’t have to be strong in front of me, Vel. You can be as vulnerable as you need to be.”
Vel nodded, a mix of relief and lingering anxiety in his expression. “Hmm, happens,” he murmured, his voice shaky but grateful.
Krit guided Vel to the dining table, where he had prepared a simple breakfast of eggs, toast, and coffee. As they sat down together, Vel tried to focus on the food in front of him, hoping it would help him push aside the haunting memories of the previous day. The conversation remained minimal; Vel wasn’t ready to delve into the events of last night, preferring to keep things light and normal for the moment.
As Vel finished washing up, he heard Krit's voice calling Sai and Pon. Krit, knowing Vel might need support, had asked them to come over and keep Vel company while he went to meet his father.
Krit told Sai and Pon everything that happened last night.
When Sai and Pon arrived, Vel, who had just stepped out of the bathroom, greeted them with a weary smile. Krit was nearby, preparing to leave for his meeting with his father.
“Hey,” Krit said, looking at Vel with a mix of concern and affection. “I’ve asked Sai and Pon to stay with you for a bit. I need to go see my dad, but I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Vel nodded, trying to mask his anxiety. “Thanks, Krit. I appreciate it.”
Krit gave Vel a comforting hug and a quick kiss. “Don’t worry, okay? Just hang out with Sai and Pon. They’ll keep you company.”
Vel gave Krit a reassuring smile, though he was still uneasy. “Okay. Be careful.”
With a final, reassuring glance, Krit left for his meeting. Vel turned to Sai and Pon, who were ready to offer their support and keep him company during a challenging day.
The kitkaruwannakul Mansion
Krit arrived at his father’s study, his mind still racing from the events of the previous night. He knocked on the door and, upon receiving permission to enter, walked into the room where Lek was waiting behind his desk.
“Sit down, Krit,” Lek said, gesturing to a chair. “We need to discuss this situation thoroughly.”
Krit took a seat, his posture tense. “I wanted to talk to you about Vel and the incident with Emma. I know you said you’d help, but I need to make sure we handle this properly.”
Lek nodded, his expression serious. “I understand. What exactly do you need from me?”
“Emma’s behavior has been harmful to Vel, both emotionally and mentally,” Krit explained. “I want to make sure she stays away from him and can’t cause him any more trouble. I need your influence to make that happen.”
Lek leaned back in his chair, considering. “Alright. I can use my connections to ensure she’s kept in check. But I need you to be clear about what you’re asking of me.”
Krit took a deep breath. “I want you to ensure Emma is removed from any position where she can affect Vel’s life. I need you to talk to your contacts and make sure she doesn’t interfere with us anymore.”
Lek nodded slowly. “I’ll see what I can do. But remember, this isn’t just about using my influence. You need to handle Vel’s emotional state as well. You can’t rely solely on external solutions.”
Krit looked down, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. “I’m doing everything I can. I just need her out of the picture.”
Lek sighed. “Alright. I’ll make some calls. But be sure to take care of Vel. He’s going through a lot, and you need to be there for him.”
“Thank you,” Krit said. “I’ll make sure he knows he’s not alone.”
As Krit left his father’s office, he knew he needed to get back to Vel quickly. He called Sai and Pon to ask if they could come over to support Vel.

Author's Note:
Hey guys, how are you all doing? Today was my exam, and honestly, it didn’t go that well. 😅 I’m a bit worried, but I’m gonna focus on preparing for the next one, which is English, so fingers crossed for that!
This chapter was actually written about 5-6 days ago because I like to stay ahead with my writing. But I’m going to need a little more time to focus on my studies now, especially since the accounts exam didn’t go great. Hopefully, things improve with the next exam!
Thanks for your understanding, and I’ll be back soon! 👋
