Krit sat in the car, fuming as he tried to calm himself. Max, his new bodyguard, glanced back at him from the driver's seat. "Calm down, sir. It happens," Max said in a steady voice, trying to diffuse the tension. "Where should I take you? To your own home or to the family mansion?"
Krit took a deep breath, his mind racing. "Of course, my own house," he replied curtly. The car ride was silent, filled with the residual anger from the canteen confrontation. Krit stared out of the window, his thoughts a mix of frustration and longing.
When they finally reached his home, Krit got out of the car, walked up to the front door, and rang the bell. A moment later, Vel opened the door and, without warning, pulled Krit into a tight hug. Krit felt his anger and stress melt away as warmth flooded through him. For some reason, Vel's embrace brought him instant happiness, and in that moment, he found the comfort he desperately needed.
Vel smiled warmly, pulling Krit close. “Aw, I missed you so much,” he said softly, placing a quick kiss on Krit’s right cheek. In an instant, all the anger and frustration Krit had felt only moments ago vanished completely.
Looking at Vel, Krit let out a shaky breath, his heart full. “Every time I see you, I feel like I gain ten years of life,” he muttered, half-serious, half in awe.
Vel chuckled and shook his head. “Well, guess what? I didn’t really know what to cook, so I made you some soup and rice... hope that’s okay.”
Krit’s eyes lit up with happiness. “You cooked for me? What are you, my housewife now?” he teased, trying to hide how much the gesture meant to him.
Vel laughed, stepping back to let Krit inside. “Actually, I spoke with your mom earlier. She wants me to get an English degree so I can teach at her school. So, until I start studying, I’ll cook for you when you come home,” he explained, a soft smile on his face. “After that, we both have to work, since your dad wants us to learn the ropes.”
Krit shook his head in mock surrender. “So, I have to be grateful for the time you’ll cook for me then.”
“Pretty much,” Vel replied, smirking.
After finishing their meal, Krit stretched out and sighed contentedly. “You know what? Let’s take a bath together,” he suggested with a playful glint in his eyes.
Vel raised an eyebrow but couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips. “A bath, huh? Alright, I’m in,” he replied, feeling a flutter of excitement at the idea.
Moments later, they found themselves in the large bathtub, the warm water surrounding them. They sat close, legs brushing against each other as they settled in. The room was filled with a gentle, steamy warmth, making the atmosphere both soothing and intimate.
As they soaked in the tub, they chatted casually, talking about anything that crossed their minds – from Vel’s plans for studying to Krit’s day at college. The conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by shared laughter and smiles.
Every so often, they’d lean in, brushing soft kisses on each other’s cheeks, foreheads, or lips. Krit would plant a gentle kiss on Vel’s temple, and Vel would respond by kissing Krit’s cheek, letting their lips linger for a heartbeat longer each time. The pecks were tender, filled with unspoken affection that made the moment feel perfect.
Time skip
Krit stepped out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel. Just as he started getting dressed, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and saw Dao's name flashing. With a sigh, he picked up the call.
“Anything you want?” he asked, trying to sound casual but unable to hide his lack of enthusiasm. He wasn't unhappy to talk to her; he just wasn’t in the mood for more of her meticulous planning.
