Vel stood at the gates of the grand mansion, staring up at the imposing structure before him. He had been here countless times, but this time felt different. It wasn't as Krit's bodyguard, or even as his boyfriend, but as someone who was slowly becoming part of the family. The security guard at the entrance gave him a nod of recognition and waved him in, knowing exactly who he was. Vel took a deep breath, stepping through the gates and into the estate, his mind swirling with a mix of determination and nerves.

Inside, Dao greeted him with a calm, composed smile. She stood confidently, the aura of a successful businesswoman about her. Dao owned several schools and was deeply involved in education, a fact Vel admired quietly.

"How are you, Vel?" Dao asked casually. "How's Krit? And how are you two doing?"

Vel nodded politely, his voice steady. "We're good. Everything's going well."

After a pause, Dao tilted her head, studying him briefly. "And your education? You're doing well in your studies?"

Vel blinked at the question, surprised, but nodded again. "Yes, I'm managing fine."

Dao nodded, satisfied with the response, before moving on. "So, what brings you here today? Can I help you with something?"

Vel hesitated for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "Actually, I came to talk to..." he began, his voice faltering. He glanced at Dao, his mind trying to navigate the unfamiliar territory of calling someone else 'Dad.' He took a deep breath, correcting himself. "I came to talk to... Dad."

Dao raised an eyebrow slightly but smiled understandingly. She had told Vel before to address them as 'Mom' and 'Dad,' but hearing him finally do it brought a small sense of warmth.

"He's upstairs in his study room," she said, her voice gentle yet matter-of-fact. "Go ahead. I'm sure he'll be glad to speak with you."

Vel nodded, thanking her quietly before making his way toward the stairs, his heart pounding in his chest as he prepared for the conversation ahead.

Vel stood in front of the door to Lek's study, hesitating for a moment before knocking. He heard a voice call out, "Come in." Pushing the door open, he found Lek surrounded by files and paperwork, clearly busy.

When Lek looked up and saw Vel, a faint smile crossed his face. "Ah, Vel, come in. Sit," he said, gesturing to the couch beside him. Vel settled onto the plush seat, feeling the weight of the conversation ahead.

"How are you? How are you doing?" Lek asked, his tone more curious than formal.

As they sat together, Lek felt a surprising sense of admiration for Vel. The respect Vel showed him, especially as Krit's partner, was something Lek never expected. He had always doubted whether he deserved Krit's love or respect, let alone Vel's.

Vel took a deep breath, his heart racing as he faced Lek. "Dad, I really need to understand what happened between you and Krit. What's the story with his mother? How did Dao come into your life, and where does Pon fit into all of this?"
