Chapter 15
"How can you talk about love!?"

Angeles' POV

"Please, be careful," Draco said, taking my hands and looking me in the eyes.
"Draco, when have I ever not been careful?" I laughed. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
"I don't know... Maybe you shouldn't go... Don't you want to stay?"
"I can't do that, but I promise I'll come back to you when it's all over."
"Do you promise?"
"I promise."
"Aren't you scared?"
"Well, yes, but I have to do this. What if I win?" I said, smiling, excited about what might happen.
"Take care of yourself, please."

I gave him a quick kiss and headed towards the field, knowing he'd be among the spectators, watching everything.

The day of the final task had arrived: the maze that Professor Moody had told me about loomed before us. It was imposing, very large, enough to obscure anything that might be inside. It looked like large walls made of shrubbery. I was a bit nervous, adjusting my clothes, when I decided to look for Draco among the crowd. He was with Theo, who had a worried expression, but not like Draco's... Draco was unusually concerned. I mean, he was always there, watching over my safety and making sure I was okay, but this time it felt different. Maybe he knew something about the maze? He shouldn't be worried. He's facing the most powerful chaotic witch of this generation, right? Doesn't he trust me and my abilities?

Dumbledore signaled the champions to come closer. We obeyed, standing around him.

"In this maze, there are no magical creatures, but there will be something more challenging... You may transform yourselves inside. Look for the cup, but be careful not to lose your sanity, understood?"

We all nodded with some fear and doubt, but we knew we had to do it. It was the final task. I hoped it would end soon so I could focus on school and being with Draco. I wasn't thinking about anything else... After this tournament, the school year would end, and I'd go back to Buenos Aires for my vacation. I was excited about that too. I hadn't seen my family in a long time, and knowing I could do so soon made me happy. Maybe Draco would want to come with me? I'd be very happy for my parents to meet him, to see that not all Malfoys are what they think they are.

"Champions, get ready!" Dumbledore shouted as everyone applauded. "At the sound of the cannon, you will enter the maze. The first wizard to touch the cup will win... Good luck! You'll need it."

I could see Professor Moody at the entrance of the maze, with Harry. Before taking my place, the professor looked at me and made a nodding gesture; I understood he was wishing me luck, so I responded with the same gesture.

The cannon fired, and we all entered the maze from different points. Upon entering, I noticed the grass behind me closing, leaving me in silence, almost in complete darkness. I started walking slowly, very scared. I couldn't hear anything or see any threats, which is never a good sign. I continued walking forward when Victor appeared in front of me, but looking very different... His eyes were empty, staring straight ahead, as if he were possessed. I decided not to pay much attention and just pass by him as quickly as possible when I felt him cast a spell with his wand.

"Expelliarmus!"

My wand flew away from me. I didn't think much of it because Victor didn't know I could do magic even without it, but when I moved to retrieve it, he was already behind me, with his wand pointing right at my neck.
