Ángeles' POV

"Now you have classes with Slughorn, right?" Theo asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. "I could use some help from his star student..."

"Theo!" I laughed, hitting his arm. "If I'm Slughorn's star student, it's because of you and how you helped me with potions before, remember? That time you fell asleep in the library..."

Theo blushed and laughed, looking down at the memory. It must have been embarrassing for him, right? I mean, starting to snore in the Hogwarts library wasn't likely the plan he had for that day.

"Oh Merlin, don't remind me," he laughed. "Well, I guess I should get going. I didn't tell you, but Professor Sprout wants to see me. Apparently, I'm really good at herbology, and she intends for me to study it someday. Can you imagine? From now on, you should refer to me as Professor Nott."

"Theo..." I said with a soft smile. "That's amazing! Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"When could I have done that if you're with Malfoy all day?" he asked, rolling his eyes.

I couldn't blame him; he was right: I was with Draco all day. It didn't bother me at all, and I'm sure it didn't bother Theo either, even though Draco wasn't his favorite. But it was true that I was neglecting him a lot; I mean, my best friend could become a herbology teacher at Hogwarts, and I had no idea! Theo must hate me. He must think I'm the worst friend in the world. But at the same time, I knew he understood everything happening in my life at that moment. I still hadn't wanted to tell him about the Weasleys, not just because it was too recent and I hadn't processed it myself, but I didn't want to add another worry for him.

"You're right, Theodore, I'm sorry," I said, hugging him. "I promise I'll try to spend more time with you. It's just that, you know... Things have been really tough for me. I find it hard to make time for the things I enjoy, like being with you," I smiled.

"Do you really like being with me?" Theo said, blushing with a big smile.

"Theo, it's too early..."

"For what?" he asked, not understanding.

"For you to ask stupid questions," I said with a smile.

"Angie!" he said, laughing and hitting my arm, just like I did to him. "I'm sorry, it's been so long since you've been with me that I don't even know if you like me, you know?" he said, pretending to be sad.

"Oh, Theo, please," I rolled my eyes and smiled. "I'd love to show you that you're a fool for thinking that, but I have to go if I want to keep my star student reputation."

"You're right, get out of here, I don't want to see you, Rasmüssen," he said while laughing and pushing me.

I blew him a kiss as I left, still smiling, and headed to the potions classroom. I knew that if anyone could know something about that infamous necklace and that student at St. Mungo's, it had to be Slughorn, and I knew that if there was someone I could tell, it was me. I could read his thoughts, and he didn't know it; that had to be an advantage, right?

As I entered the classroom, I knew there were about thirty minutes left before class started, but the professor was already there, sitting at his desk, hiding his face with his hands, looking worried.

"Professor?" I said, stepping into the classroom.

"Oh, Ángeles, come in, come in," he said, pretending to be fine as he straightened up at his desk. "I didn't expect you so early."

"Well, I had some free time and wanted to stop by to talk to you..."

"And what's this honor for, Miss?" he said with a polite smile, looking at the scrolls on his desk.
