A couple days later
Veldora Journal
Oh yes, a lot of things happened after I came back from my glorious victory against Velzard. First, I told Rimuru all about the battle, assuring him that my sister wouldn't be disturbing us for a while. He seemed relieved—not that I blame him, dealing with her is exhausting even for me, and I'm the Great Veldora!
Rimuru had just finished transporting the people of Eurazania to Tempest, and he was in a pretty good mood after hearing the news I shared. It's not every day you tell your best friend you fought your sister and sent her flying back north, right?
After that, things started moving fast. Rimuru, being the busy slime that he is, immediately began preparing for Clayman's attack on Eurazania. He teleported his subordinates to the Beast Kingdom to fend off Clayman's and Milim's forces. And, naturally, being the tactical genius that he is, Rimuru decided to take on the dirtbag Clayman himself—at Walpurgis, no less.
Everything was going to plan as I watched from Rimuru's perspective, waiting for my chance to shine, like I did in the other timeline. Then, just as Rimuru was about to be hit by Milim, I jumped in and took the blow for him. How great of a friend am I, right? Taking the hit for my sworn brother not once but twice! It's just like old times—though, in this timeline, I've gotta say, I looked even more epic doing it.
We fought for a while, Milim and I. It was just like before. Then, when the time was right, Milim revealed to everyone that she had been faking the whole "mind-control" bit. The look on the faces of the other Demon Lords was priceless—well, most of them. I wasn't shocked, of course! I knew it all along. Hehehe.......
After the reveal, Rimuru beat Clayman into submission and absorbed him. That wrapped up the main event of Walpurgis. But, the best part for me? I got to see Luminous again. Even though she still hates me, it was nice to see her face. I wish I could've restored her memories then and there, but now wasn't the right time. I had to hold in my lonely tears. Being a dragon isn't easy sometimes.
After a brief after-party (because of course we celebrated), we decided to head back to Tempest, where everyone was waiting for the good news. Peace, for now.
The end of Veldora Journal
......................
Rimuru, ready for the next major battle, gave Veldora a stern look before teleporting out with Shion, Benimaru, Souei, Albis, and Suphia to the battlefield. They were headed to face Hinata and the Western Holy Church forces in what was sure to be a decisive confrontation.
Before leaving, Rimuru gave Veldora a reminder.
Rimuru: Veldora, you stay here while I deal with Hinata, okay?
Veldora, casually lounging, waved it off with a carefree grin.
Veldora: Yeah, yeah, same as before, right?
Rimuru nodded-entrusting his friend and knowing Veldora would listen to him, at least for now-and disappeared with his group, leaving Veldora behind.
When Rimuru and the others had left, Veldora stretched lazily and readjusted himself to be more comfortable on the sofa. The outcome of this battle was already clear in his mind; he'd lived through it once before, after all. There was no pressing need for him to join the fight, so Veldora took advantage of the calm to pick up the latest manga Rimuru had brought him............
An hour later, Veldora was flipping through his manga when he felt the presence of one he knew quite a distance from the battlefield. It could not have been any other than Luminous Valentine, the ruler of vampires, finally appeared. To save Hinata from death, as he remembered it in the past timeline, she came.
