Demi came home from one of her doctor appointments & told me what the doctor wanted to do & about testing for cervical cancer. I could tell she was worried, even though she swore she wasn't. I kept telling her not to worry about something unless she had something to actually worry about. After a few days, she stopped thinking about it & in turn seemed to stop worrying. Of course, I continued worrying about it whenever I thought about it. Luckily, life was hectic & I was busy so I didn't have time to think about it much.

It seemed like filming the TV show flew by so fast, because the wrap party was here & it seemed like I had just filmed my first scene. Demi & I were so great again, I couldn't imagine our marriage being anymore perfect. Well, I could imagine one thing, but that was probably way into the future. I hoped it was in the future anyway.

Demi & I got back to the way we were before she started working for Apollo. He didn't need a nurse anymore, so she was out of a job again. I was fine with that & that left us more time to be together since I was so busy. 'Kingdom' wrapped a few weeks earlier & I went back into the studio to finish up the album. Demi actually did another song with me on it, so I made sure the label paid her. We wrote it together, funny enough, even though she will tell you she didn't write anything. I was messing around one day & she helped me with the word I had been searching for, which became the title, 'Afterglow.' I told her that was the entire essence of the song so she could be considered a co-writer. So the weeks before my birthday, I was going to be finishing the album, then I was doing some radio promo because the first single was being released on the Monday after the wrap party.

Demi was getting dressed for the party, while I was showering. Joe had just picked up Damon, since we were probably going to be out late. I came out of the bathroom & stopped dead in my tracks when I saw Demi smoothing out her dress in the full length mirror. I whistled. "Damn, baby. You look... whoah... I can't even find a word that does you justice. Nothing comes to mind. Beautiful, gorgeous, exquisite, flawless, luscious... if all of those words could be put into one, then maybe that would be a fitting word."

Her lip came out as she tilted her head. "You give the best compliments. Thank you, sweetie." She finished putting her earring in as I came up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. "Niiiiiick!" She squealed. "You're soaking wet."

"Mmmm hmmm...." I kissed her neck since she had her hair up, exposing her silky skin. "You want to be wet, too? Because it will only take me a minute to make you wet."

She lifted her shoulder, giggling. "I'm already a little wet, but you need to stop. We've had plenty of sex over the last few weeks. Except for the few days after my procedure I think we've had sex once a day." She clicked her tongue.

Chuckling, I ran my finger down her back, that was only covered by a few thin straps of material. "I like the cut out back. It's sexy as hell." I kissed her shoulder, moving my mouth along the length of it.

"Nick, please stop. We're not having sex right now. We had sex this morning. We can have sex when we get home, so go get dressed."

I sighed & nodded, smiling at her reflection. "Yes, my love." I swatted her ass before I went to the closet to get my outfit. "Do you think I should wear a hat tonight?"

"Oh yes. I love when you wear hats. You look so sexy." She winked at me as she watched me in the mirror.

"That's what I'm after. I want to look sexy tonight." I let out a breathy laugh.

"Baby, you're always sexy, so...."

I smiled then started to get dressed. When we were both ready to go, we headed out to the car that the network had sent for us. We got to the party & there was a red carpet & camera crews because our wrap party was also the premiere of the first episode. Demi was the perfect date & she got a lot of attention since she looked so gorgeous. She was making my mouth water most of the evening. We sat at a table to watch the episode while we were served dinner. Demi loved the show & pelted me with questions about what was going to happen. I whispered in her ear, "I'll tell you later when there aren't executives within ear shot." She smiled at me, then stared into my eyes, her smile turning into a sultry expression. "What?" I asked, leaning back to eye her, suspiciously.
