As I saw my baby become clear on the ultrasound machine, I felt a flutter in my chest. I let out a giddy laugh when I could clearly make out what was in between the baby's legs. Or rather, what wasn't in between the baby's legs. I looked at Demi & we both flashed each other shit eating grins. I could tell by the look she gave me that she knew what our baby was before the doctor even said anything.

"Looks like a girl, unless he's learned how to hide his penis already." Dr. Riley said, making me & Demi both laugh, excitedly.

I stared into Demi's eyes & my eyebrows went up. "Damon is gonna be so pissed." I murmured as I leaned to kiss her lips. "But I'm excited. I'm going to have a little girl who looks just like her beautiful mother."

Demi's eyes filled with tears, so I kissed her forehead then put my head close to hers so we could watch Dr. Riley show us more of our baby girl. "Does she look okay? Is there anything wrong?" Demi asked the doctor in a shaky voice.

Dr. Riley looked over at her & smiled. "From this angle, your baby appears to be perfect." Dr. Riley winked at Dem, then looked back at the screen.

Demi let out a little relieved laugh as I kissed her head again. "She's perfect. Just like her Mommy." I said into Demi's ear.

She rolled her eyes at me, but smiled, broadly. She asked a few more questions, then we just watched as Dr. Riley finished up doing his thing. Once he took the wand off of Demi's belly, he wiped the gel off of her, then handed us a bunch of pictures of our daughter. He laughed when Demi took the stack of photos. "I get carried away sometimes with the pictures. Now you will have to go out & buy an album just for the ultrasound photos."

Demi & I both chuckled, but loved that we had all these pictures. It was incredible, the technology, because we could make out certain features of our daughter's face. Mostly her mouth, that was turned down in a slight frown. In one photo, her hand was up by her face & that one was my favorite because it looked like she was posing, like she knew she was being photographed.

I think Demi & I smiled all the way home & she kept examining the ultrasound pictures. "When do you want to tell Damon he's gonna have another sister?" I asked as I reached to squeeze Demi's hand.

She shrugged, smiling, as she continued to stare at one of the ultrasound pictures. "We can tell him tonight if you want. I don't think he'll be that upset, honestly. He loves his sisters."

"Yea, but he wanted a brother."

"Well, apparently, the Jonas boys are better at making girls than boys." She giggled as she bit her lip.

"Is that a poke at our manhood?" I gave her a sideways look & she lifted her chin.

"Oh... no, baby. Not at all. I mean Joe gave me a boy." She kept smiling as she bit her lip & I rolled my eyes.

"I ain't done yet. I will knock you up again one day & that will be a boy. Mark my words, my love." I pursed my lips, lifted an eyebrow, then gave her a cocky grin.

Demi leaned her head back on her seat & reached for my hand. "Promise?" She asked in a hoarse whisper & I turned my head to give her soft smile. I squeezed her hand & nodded, then she looked back down at the photos in her hand.

I drove us home as Demi & I discussed when we should tell everyone we were having a girl. We decided we would tell Damon before everyone else, but we were telling our family at our next Sunday family dinner. We got home & went right upstairs to take advantage of the alone time while we had it.
