Nick

I heard Joe's phone ring as we were getting onto the Brainstormer ride with Damon. He was sitting next to Damon & I was surprised when I saw him answer it. I couldn't hear him, but he wasn't on the phone very long. He turned around to look at me. "Chloe just wanted me to call her when we're done so she can tell me where they are." He said as he rolled his eyes & chuckled.

The ride was lame, since it was a child's ride, but Damon absolutely loved it & screamed like it was the most exciting thing he'd ever been on. I loved seeing him have fun, though, & I couldn't help but imagine coming back here in several years with my own child. We got off the ride & Damon was beaming as we walked toward the exit. "That was so fun. Wasn't it fun Nick?" He asked as he slipped his hand in mine. Joe was already holding his other hand & I looked up at him & gave my brother an eyebrow raise.

"Not as much fun as this..." I said as I lifted my arm. Joe did the same thing & Damon was lifted up off the ground. He squealed & laughed with delight as we swung him back & forth while we walked down the exit ramp.

When we got to the end of the exit ramp, Joe pulled out his phone to call Chloe. Damon & I walked ahead of him, Damon chatting nonstop about how much fun he was having. I heard Joe say something that made me stop walking. "You're at the medic building? Why?" Joe's voice sounded alarmed, so I turned to look at him. I watched his face, closely & then my heart sank when he looked up at me with sympathetic eyes. "We'll be there shortly." Joe said then put his phone in his pocket. He motioned with his head for us to walk, then he saw a park employee. "Excuse me? Can you point me in the direction of the medic's office?" The guy literally pointed in a direction to Joe's right.

"What happened?" I asked as I walked with Joe, forgetting, for a moment, that Damon was still holding my hand.

"I guess Demi was dehydrated because of the heat & not feeling good. She moved too fast & got light headed & went to reach for something, but she fell instead." Joe replied, then stopped talking when a group of people walked in front of us.

"Demi fell? Jesus. Is she okay?" I asked, my voice sounding panicked.

"Mommy falls all the time, Nick. She'll be okay." Damon said, making me look down at him. I couldn't tell him it was more serious than that since she was pregnant, so I just smiled at him & nodded my head.

"You're right. She is probably okay."

"Chloe said she's fine." Joe said to both me & Damon, even though it was meant for me, since he knew I was worried more.

We got to the medic & not quick enough if you ask me. I walked in & saw Demi sitting on an exam table, with a cloth on her head & a brace on her wrist. When she saw me, she smiled with her bottom lip jutted out a little. "Demi." I let out a relieved breath. "Are you okay?" I went to her side & kissed her head.

"Yes." She held her wrist up. "They think I sprained my wrist, though, so they gave me a brace. It hurt quite a bit since I fell on my hands, most of my weight landing on this one."

I sighed, shaking my head. "You need to stop scaring me." I whispered & she nodded. "Should we get you out of this park & take you to the hotel?"

"NO! I'm fine. I don't want to ruin Damon's day." Demi looked over at Damon & touched his nose with her finger. "Besides, we still gotta get some ice cream."

"You sure you're okay?" I asked.

"Yes. I got some fluids in me & I cooled off. I just got overheated & I was dehydrated I think since I got sick this morning. I didn't fall too hard. I'm fine." Demi insisted.
