Nick didn't stop spoiling our daughter for the first weeks of her life, but honestly, I was finding it endearing. He had three weeks off after she was born, then he had to film Kingdom for six weeks, while also rehearsing for his tour, so he was going to be extremely busy. He was cherishing every moment he could with Reese & I was letting him do whatever he wanted with her. She was only going to be this young once & Nick was going to miss a month of her life, so this wasn't hurting anyone.

One afternoon, I left him with Reese, so I could run a few errands. Reese was a little over two weeks old, but she was in amazing hands with her daddy. He was so good with her & did everything. He fed her, changed her, bathed her & of course, sang to her. I came home that afternoon & as soon as I walked into the house, I heard his voice as he talked to her.

"You gonna smile again for Daddy?" I heard him ask her, then he chuckled. "That's it. Go ahead." I heard him let out a short, excited laugh. "Yes. Daddy sure loves that smile. I think you're gonna have a smile that lights up my world just like your mommy." He said as my heart fluttered in my chest. "God, you are so precious. Daddy loves you so much." I heard him sigh, then he paused before I heard the most amazing sound. He started singing & my heart melted as I walked to the family room. "Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? Isn't she precious, less than one month old." Nick sang the song & I smiled that he changed the words to fit the moment. Nick was lying on his side, on the floor with Reese on her back, right beside him. One of her toy mobiles was over top of her, but she wasn't looking at it. Her gaze was fixated on Nick's face as he sang to her. I could tell by the way she moved her body & her mouth that she was eating every bit of this up. She loved to hear him sing & probably remembered him singing to her while I carried her. Nick smiled down at her in between lines of the song, "But isn't she lovely made from love? Isn't she pretty? Truly the angel's best. Boy, I'm so happy, we have been heaven blessed...." Nick saw me at that moment & smiled. "I can't believe what God has done. Through us, he's given life to one. But isn't she lovely, made from love? Isn't she lovely?" His voice trailed off & then a huge grin spread across his face.

I sat down on the chair, smiling down at him. "You are too adorable for words."

"Her or me?"

"Both of you."

Nick winked at me, then sat up so he could scoop our daughter up in his arms. "She likes when I sing, for your information."

"I know." I chuckled as I moved to sit across from him on the floor. I reached my hands out. "Can I hold my daughter please?"

Nick sighed, like I was asking for something so ridiculous, then he handed her to me. I held her against my face & gave her a few kisses. "What a sight." Nick said, thoughtfully as he leaned back on his arms. I gave him a sweet smile as I lifted one eyebrow. He reached to grab his phone that had been sitting on the floor, so I knew he'd taken a bunch of photos of Reese. He was constantly taking her picture & now he held his phone up toward me & I shook my head at him. "I need to take pictures so I have something to look at when I'm out of the country for a month."

I took in a deep breath, then let it out as I frowned. "It's three & a half weeks."

Nick chuckled as he came to sit beside me. "Right. In any case, I am going to miss my family." Nick bent his head to kiss Reese's head then smiled up at me. "I love you." He murmured, then moved to kiss my lips, softly.

"I love you, too."

Nick & I played with Reese for a few minutes, before she got fussy & needed to eat. Joe brought Damon home a little later & we spent the rest of the night together, as a family. Damon loved being a big brother to Reese, especially now that he was a little older. He had a lot more practice now, so he felt like he was a pro at it. I think he liked that there was only one baby this time around, because then he didn't have to feel like he was playing favorites.
